Started down a long road today, gutted the boat to begin a complete redo of the boat and trailer.  Next step is dropping the hull off with Scott Kornowski for bottom rework, redo of the balsa floors, and restoration of the original gelcoat from 78.  Under the white, the blue and the brown we found it, cool looking red orange and brown color scheme.

BBC is getting some updating with a new cam, aluminum heads and a 200 shot of nitrous, and moving it forward.

She runs 80 now, goal is to get into the 100's.

37 years and 4 layers of primer later it's back to 1977.  Pic only wants to post upside down for some reason.

Just had the trailer sandblasted and powder coated

dumb question but wouldnt it be easier, cheaper, faster to just sand down to original gel while not trying to preserve it and lay down matching graphics?  it seems like a week has gone by and its still in the sanding phase.  it couldve been ripped down to original gel or even original glass in a day.  or is it the whole preserving the original and restoring it what you're after?  i see some spots where the sanding has gone too far and those areas will need to be retouched.  just curious. 

Most of the work on it to remove the paint was by razor blade.  Trying to keep the weight down as well by  getting rid of everything.

Why didn't you do a set back while Chris (Joe ) was doing the bottom? Just curious.

Most of the paint is gone now, lots of sanding and blocking going on.  Uncovered some poorly repaired damage on the passenger side sponson so that's getting fixed.
