Ok update bilge was done and engine is in its spot. Gas tank supports and new bulkhead support in that will eventually hold my speakers. Then new ski locker out of teak built. Next is to install the carpet and start rigging this thing hopefully be on the water in two weeks or less. I can say this is not for the lazy or none motivated these kinds of builds are intense. Big thanks to all that have helped.

Came over the weekend to help build a new wire harness in the boat. Had some help from my lil apprentice. She did an excellent job building this loom! Alm marine grade, heathens terminals, updated fuse block, switches, etc. 98% done, will be finished this weekend. Never seen telephone cord be used to wire lights before! BTW, it was like that before Brad bought the boat lol
Finished pics in a couple days, its crunch time for Memorial weekend!

Thanks, that is what I was thinking but the confirmation helps. Now I know to just skip the big box stores. Great job on the harness. Big upgrade there. Looks like you got a big helper! That’s awesome, she will definitely be hooked!

More progress pics on the wiring. Very minimal tidying up in a couple places, but all working quite well. Had to redo the terminal ends under dash because the gauges got upgraded. Just need the new GPS speedo and find something to fill a 2in hole in place of the hour meter....

Oil Temp is a good option. In a boat that'll give you a better read on how hot the engine is running. Water temp is deceptive since it passes through the block so quickly.

They also make depth finders that'll fill that hole. (I had to laugh after that phrasing)

Its been awhile since I posted on this a couple things have happened 454 freshen up then that didn't work went to to a complete rebuild on the 454 and then things escalated and decided to drop in a LS out of a 07 Silverado a bunch of parts later and some problem solving and this thing has taken on a whole different path. Again huge thanks to Jordan Lockrey aka(jordandangerfield)of Lockrey Marine for the help.

How’s it running with the LS? There was a guy named AJ that had a orange 21’ that he put an LS in. It seemed to run very good if not better than the BBC he had in it. But I think his LS had a lot of work done.

Runs amazing it is upgraded a little bit different cam and heads were re done the motor is about 250lbs lighter then a 454 not to sure on what kind of horsepower it is putting out but it makes the boat jump on plane. I will post some more pics as I build out the interior.

That’s what I’ve read about an LS in a jet boat,  that the weight makes a big difference. Glad to hear it’s working well.
What did you use for exhaust manifolds?
Other than mounts and exhaust, what else goes into putting an LS in a boat?

Marine power center rise exhaust. You have to change the location of the coils, and i went to running a holley intake with an eldelbrock carb also the alternator needs to be moved and oil pan changed. I am still running the 3 point mount that was on the 454 they make a adapter plate for the engine mount and the bell housing bolts right up. The interior is next need to make a new engine cover due to the center rise exhaust.

I'm impressed by the LS! The extra power and reduced weight made the boat feel much lighter in the water. The shakedown run was a success. Not a single leak or hiccup.
