Title: Anchors
Post by: el mojado on September 25, 2018, 08:37:55 AM
I have a box style anchor. How long rope do you guys use? I boat at the river and Havasu. Does it need to have a chain?

You can go to the box anchor store on facebook and ask them. It is there business.

I use an Anchor Buddy with my box anchor. I also keep a 100 foot standard anchor line with me just in case. I’ve never really had the need to anchor in Havasu as I just tie up with buddies who have much larger boats.

5-10’ of chain wouldn’t hurt, but you’ll be fine with rope.
I have 10’ of chain (for weight) and 25’ rope to get past the grass in parker

Sevans01 has got the right idea. My anchor line I use for parker is a 100ft line total, from chain to bow, loops under the boat then stern to shore. I like the one line deal works for me
