Plans for the boat are:
*remove everything, put boat on dolly and get into garage
*Prep boat for new paint
*Blueprint bottom of boat, spray on speedcoat
*Re-build current motor and change cylinder heads, intake pistons etc., shooting for 500hp on 91 octane.
*Re-build pump, add straight snoot, ? impeller, loader and maybe a shoe and ride plate?
*Install rail kit and pump brace
*Boat already has new floor and stringers are in good shape

So far I have gotten everything out of the boat and organized, built a dolly and started prepping the boat for paint. Also have the engine and pump torn down waiting for parts as they come in.I will try and keep the thread updated with my progress, here are a few pics. I am hoping the boat will run around 80mph when my boat is set-up properly

90% of the sanding being done is by hand with no blocks. The rest of the time it is with an air file or a 3" or 6" da.

I was also thinking about setting back the pump also While i have it all torn apart and get the intake machined for a shoe.

What are you useing to fill the holes

Depends on how large of a hole it is. The ones on the dash will have new wood glassed in behind them and then filled the rest of the way with fiberglass mat and cloth. Then short strand filler for smaller holes, like the ones all across the sides(about 3/16 holes) and on top some lightweight filler to fill the very small holes.

Can't wait to watch all the fun you will be having!!! Projects like this one make me want to try out my own restore job on my Rodgers super cyclone but the money thing always stops me before I get my self in to deep.

I couldnt afford to do any of this if i wasnt doing it myself, and i have a tight budget at that. But i cant  stand having something that i dont like. It probably doesnt cost as much as you think 

The only reason i am starting at this part of the boat is because all of the floor and supports have been replaced by me about 4 months ago. Everything else is new too.

Still making progress but got a little distracted with a center console for my truck. Getting back on track, i am going to keep sanding the gel coat around the seam area so that i can lay down a layer of mat and cloth over it. And then start sanding and filling that. I am debating on what to do with the intake. It looks like the epoxy holding it in has come loose in a few places, and i was figuring i would ask and see if a pump setback would benefit me or not?

Grind everything down and then fit new full length stringers in the boat  . Also going to remove the pump intake and send it off to get it machined for a rideplate and shoe. I am going to set the pump back so that the hand hole is out of the back of the boat

Lol, good thing i dont have a wife  . I will update again once everything is out of the boat(pump intake, floor, carpet, stringers) I imagine its going to be one hell of an itchy job so i am just going to set aside one whole day to remove everything.
