I have a 1974 Rogers Super Cyclone and I am pulling my pump out to rebuild it and it is stuck to the intake adapter plate. I am certain the pump has not been removed since it was originally installed.  I have removed all bolts and it appears to be rusted or glued to the adapter plate.  Any suggestions

id verify the back two are out. You cant see them, they are a bitch

I ll double check to make sure I have all the bolts removed. I was thinking about using a 4 x 4 chunk of wood and a small sledge. Would the casing be able to with stand the blow?

If it's silicone,  impact will do zero.

Grab four or five thin putty knives and slowly drive them in from over side,  stay well away from the corners (they break off stupid easy).

Slow and steady wins the race here.

If you have the ability,  keep the flat side of the blade on the side of the gasket,  this will keep damage to the surfaces to a minimum.
