SO HERE ARE SOME PICS, I JUST FINISHED REPLACING THE STRINGERS AND TRANSOM I WILL POST PICS OF THAT. SO OVER THE WEEKEND I SANDED THE ENTIRE BOAT DOWN AND PREPED IT FOR PRIMER SUNDAY. DAD STOPED BY THE SHOP AND BEFORE I COULD MIX THE PRIMER HE HAD ALREADY MIXED IT AND HAD THE GUN IN HAND. AND PROCEEDED TO SHOW ME THE RIGHT WAY TO DO IT (NOTE HE HAS BEEN PAINTING FOR 30 YEARS) SO I JUST SIT BACK AND TAKE NOTES.

TODAY I BLOCKED THE BOAT AND THEN APPLIED THE FINAL THREE COATS OF PRIMER AND I GOT A LIL CARRIED AWAY WITH THE GUIDE COAT AKA THE BLACK SPRAY PAINT YOU SPRAY OVER THE PRIMER THE SHOWS YOU THE LOW SPOTS AFTER YOU SAND. WHO NEEDS STICKERS? SHOULD HAVE IT ALL BLOCKED AND READY FOR PAINT TOMMOROW. AND MAYBE HAVE IT PAINTED THURSDAY IT'S GOING ALL WHITE AGAIN.

GOT OUT OF THE SHOP AROUND 8 TONIGHT GOT IT ALL READY TO PAINT ON SATURDAY. FIRST BLOCKED IT WITH 320 AND THEN AGAIN WITH 500 WET. THE SAD PART IS IT IS PROBABLY STRAIGHT ENOUGH TO SHOOT BLACK BUT STICKING WITH WHITE. WELL TOMOROW I SHOULD HAVE THE BILGE ALL PAINTED WITH HERCULINER AND PICK UP ALL THE PARTS FROM THE POLISHER.

AND ON A SIDE NOTE MY UNCLE CAME BY AND INSTALLED HIS STEERING AND GAUGES WITH BEZELS. JUST A LIL FRIENDLY COMPITION TO SEE WHO CAN FINISH THEIRS FIRST. ;D

IT WAS KIND LIKE X-MAS TODAY GOT MY PUMP REBUILD KIT THANKS JBP, FOWARD REVERSE CABLE, RUB RAIL INSERT ($150 FOR RUBBER ???) PICKED UP THE POLISHED PIECES AND THE FRESHLY POWDER COATED PUMP PARTS CAME IN. SO TOADY I STARTED PUTTING THE PUMP TOGETHER AND THE ENGINE AND AFTER LOOKING AT IT I WANT TO PAINT IT A DARKER BLUE JUST DOESNT LOOK RIGHT ALSO GOT THE INTERIOR ALL CLEANED AND BAGGEDUP.

TODAY PUT THE TRAILER BACK TOGETHER CLEANED UP THE WHEELS AND TIRES, GOT THE BOAT BACK ON THE TRAILER, PUT IN THE STEERING WHEEL, FORWARD REVERSE HANDLE AND CABLE, GAS CAPS, PUMP IN AND GLASSED THE NEW FLOOR IN. TOMORROW WILL SPRAY BED LINER IN THE BILGE, PUT IN BUMP RAIL, GAUGES AND NOZZLE ON THE PUMP.

SLEEP WHATS THAT? ;D YA I WAS SO DARN TIRED SUNDAY MORNING I DIDN'T WANT TO DRIVE ALL THE WAY DOWN TO LONG BEACH TO WORK ON THE BOAT. BUT I KNEW I HAD TO SO FOR MOTIVATION I THREW IN THE AVI REGATTA DVD AND THAT GOT ME MOTIVATED. IM GOING WITH A FORD THATS WHAT CAME WITH THE BOAT BUT MY PREFENCE WOULD BE A CHEVY. I HAD A ENGINE BUILDER BY THE NAME OF JAY ROACH IN MONTICETO BUILD IT, HE RACES A TOP FUEL DRAGSTER IN NHRA AND BUILDS ALOT OF TOP FUEL MOTORS AND BONNEVILLE MOTORS AS WELL.

PUT ALL THE GAUGES IN, RUB RAIL, EXHAUST TIPS, SEALED UP THE JET AND PAINTED THE BILGE. MOTOR IS GOING IN TOMMOROW AND HOPEFULLY IF ALL GOES AS PLANNED I WILL BREAK IN THE CAM.

WELL WE GAVE IT A VALIANT EFFORT AND JUST LIKE BRAD SAID ITS ALL THE LITTLE STUFF THAT BITES YA. FINDING ALL THE LITTLE NUTS AND BOLTS AND MAKING SEVERAL TRIPS TO THE PARTS STORE. LOOKS LIKE THE BOAT WONT MAKE IT BUT I WILL BE THERE IN THE DAY CRUSIER. WE GOT THE ENGINE MOUNTS IN AND THE ENGINE IS ALL BUTTONED UP PUT OIL IN IT AND PRE OILED IT. I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE IT IS DONE RIGHT AND NOT RUSH IT. SEE YA GUYS THERE CAN'T WAIT.

I BUILT THEM TO GIGANTOR SPECS DOUBLE REENFORCED 3/4 INCH WOOD. SET THEM BACK AND WENT A COUPLE INCHES WIDER. BUT IT DOES LOOK A BIT FUNNY I MUST ADMIT OH YA AND THE GO PEDAL IS IN FRONT OF THE PASSANGER.

TOOK SOME TIME OFF ON MY BOAT TODAY AND WORKED ON MY UNCLES SEAT FRAMES TODAY AS HE IS TRYING TO MAKE IT TO THE AVI TRIP AS WELL. ALL HE HAD WAS THE ORIGINAL FRONT DRIVER SEAT SO EVERYTHING ELSE WAS MADE FROM SCRATCH. ALL THATS LEFT IS TO FINISH THE PULLEY COVER AND RESIN AND GLASS THE SEAMS.

GOT EVERYTHING WIRED UP AND IGNITION SYSTEM DOWN. HOOKED UP THE BATTERY AND IT TURNS OVER I GUESS THATS A GOOD SIGN. SO TOMMOROW IS FOOT THROTTLE AND SEAT DAY THEN PUT SOME FUEL IN IT SEE IF IT WILL LIGHT REAL QUICK THEN OFF TO THE LAKE TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS. WE ALSO GO MY UNCLES MOTOR IN HIS BOAT AND WIRING HARNESS IN. BACK AT IT TOMORROW

THE BOAT IS ABOUT READY FOR TOMORROW JUST NEED TO HOOK UP THE THROTTLE CABLE AND CLEAN IT UP. ASLO I PUT THE 90 WT IN THE PUMP TODAY AND IT ONLY TOOK UNDER A HALF A QUART. IS THAT RIGHT I THOUGHT IT TOOK MORE THAN THAT. TOOK BOTH PLUGS OUT PUMPED IT THROUGH UNTIL IT CAME OUT THE OTHER SIDE. THEN LET IT SIT FOR TWENTY MINUTES AND TRIED TO PUT MORE IN IT AND IT WAS FULL. ???
ALSO WE GOT MY UNCLES BOAT FIRED UP FOR A BIT ANYWAYS. IT WAS GETTING KINDA DARK AND WE NOTICED A SPRAY OF OIL AFTER ABOUT 15 SECONDS INTO IT RUNNING. SHUT IT OFF AND NOTICED THAT IT HAD PUSHED THE OIL FILTER O RING RIGHT OUT OF POSITION TO ALLOW IT TO LEAK. DIDNT GET TO SEE THE PRESSURE GAUGE BUT THIS DOESN'T SOUND RIGHT. IT IS A FRAM SO NOT A CHEAPY BY ANY MEANS. DO THEY MAKE A HIGH PRESURE OIL FILTER IF SO I HAVENT HEARD OF THEM.

WELL THE BOAT RAN GREAT THIS WEEKEND NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. EXCEPT THE VACUUM SECONDARIES DIDN'T LIKE THE TUNNEL RAM, NOT ENOUGH VACUM TO OPEN THEM. SO IT ONLY RAN 4000 RPM. SO I HAVE AN 850 DBL MECH SEC HOLLEY LAYIN AROUND I NEED TO FRESHEN UP AND THROW ON. ANYWAYS HERES THE PICS OF IT ON THE WATER. NOW ALL IT NEEDS IS A NAME BEEN TOSSIN AROUND A COUPLE.

What year and model Hawaiian is this? The back end looks different than mine and mine has full stringers!!! ;D
Also yours is finished and was built in like a month. I'm like 2 years into my Hawaiian project, and have been a week away from finishing for about the last 2 months. :banghead:
