Title: curoius about how fast I may be able to go?
Post by: 1982 on July 26, 2009, 07:18:02 PM: I just had a 396 done, it has just under 10 to 1, "292" cam I never did get the spec card, 1.8 roller rockers, balanced, closed chamber oval heads, perf 2.0 intake, 750 double pumper, pretty much stock motor, I'm going to put it in a 19" jet boat, I was hoping to go at least 50? what do you guys think?

Post by: 1982 on July 26, 2009, 07:23:05 PM: hardin caribbean, I really don't know about what the impeller is, it's a berkley pump, I took the inspection cover off and the impeller doesn't seemed to be dinged up or anything, how can I tell what kind of impeller the jet has?

Post by: OC2Vegas on July 26, 2009, 07:26:29 PM: there should be a metal tag. Will say something like 12JG-A, etc. The A, B, AA, etc is what impeller came with originally. It could of been changed at some point in its life.

Theres a chart somewhere on here that would gie you a rough estimate of your top speed. You will need to know HP and impeller, and what the max RPM is of your motor.

with a 50hp outboard. I have two boats that are faster than your 2sav. Ones not ever done.. But I can put a trolling motor on it and still be faster than.....Being my boats hit the WATER...... >:D j/k
