Rhonda's boat is looking good! Won't the fellas be surprised when she goes out and hands out some ass whoopins' on the lake!!!

I have a couple of questions:

I see you've decided on a carb. What kind of set-up is Quick Fuel putting on it(referenced or not, PV #'s, jet sizes?)? You know, I've been wanting to update my carbs and now you're a dealer for them...(https://www.socaljetboats.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.planetsmilies.com%2Fsmilies%2Fconfused%2Fconfused0006.gif&hash=68ffe10d543a4e280e57bc8bfc5bb76dc4ae5dc4)

I see when you removed the 'old' engine, you lifted it with one of those carb plates from the blower. Is this a good idea? Have you done this before? I was going to make up a dual carb plate for my junk but instead opted to make a set of cables that bolt to the heads. I was afraid the load on the blower case would distort it and make trouble for me. Any comments?
Title: Re: Eliminator repower
Post by: jet boat performance on December 02, 2007, 07:23:12 PM
John the blower has an ass load of bolts/ studs, the weights well distributed and  IMO its doubtful that distortion would /could occur?, anyhow I'm serene with it , Its the same way I took it out of the Bahner 20 hrs ago  ;D

re the Q/F Carb ,spent a long time with the Quick fuel folks (Zack) over the last week (ex Holley people ) The carb will be  boost referenced (extra 25 bucks )They even gave me the anno blue "alchohol blue" goodies (metering blocks) to color coordinate , don't know what else yet ,I just gave them the  engine "recipe'  cubes, cam, heads ,boost, ignition etc, etc and said please do your magic! I'll let you know more this next week i tried Biggs too ,very nice folks ,equally knowledgable and very helpfull  but truthfully I was looking for "dealer set up" as well as a carb for the Big boat... Tom

Along side all these engine tables I figure I'll throw a 460 on a stand and get to putting it together... Don't know what to put the engine into, but hell it's fun anyway.

Looking really good Tom. If Josh ever get's super busy and would like to take on someone for an apprentice position, I would love to be a candidate.

There's something about a blown big block! ;D I have made an alternator mount for big chevys that you need to see, when I got my little boat, the DS who owned it previous broke th hell out of the from motor plate because he ran the alt. with the bolt loose.

So after about 9 Mike's hard lemonades and four prototypes I came up with a trouble free mount you could hang the engine from ;D  it even uses a turnbuckle to adjust the belt tension. Everybody who sees it wants one. Have access to a vertical mill just no extra time  :banghead:

I will be at the shop on Tues. I'll snap a pic ot two. Who knows maybe we could market these bad boys!

Don't know about you, but tired of busting my ass just to be kicked in the head everytime I turn around.

I used to rig boats for a job, and the owner would tell me what he sold to the customer, so I would go to the customer and upsell the crap out of him, don't know why but he was always pissed at me

BTW trick boat! >:D

Damn nice!
Great job on the braided steel lines. They're a tricky lot. They'll perforate ya in a hurry!!!
Did ya use a hair dryer to warm the hoses? It helps keep from cross threading in those tight bends.

Tom, forgive me for this, but how many people out there can claim a Blown Big Block as the simple  modest 'Family Boat"?

I mean, really, my son is still VERY leary of the Tunnel ram on the Moo (Most likely my driving of it, but still),

Great looking "cruiser", BTW lol

Ray

I think we need to rename you the "Extreme",  ;D
