That looks badass!. Polished or powdercoat? (I favor polished on that setup) would look cool in silver powder....

Just as a side note, I found out that these BBF crank pulleys are two pieces and if you only need one belt you can separate them and have a single groove pulley.  There are a couple small spot welds , drill through the back side of the pulley on the welds (just drill through the unwanted pulley, not all the way through) and use a chisel to separate them  ;) .

Now I'll have to go look at mine and think about making that change.  I hate the extra pulley there, it looks like you forgot to put it all together.

As long as I'm being a post whore today here's some shots of the motor , IN THE BOAT !!!!!  :o :o :o The plates are all cut and trimmed up , I'm just going to wait for Billy to look at it and double check the angles before I drill for the mounting blocks.  Better to check ten times than have extra holes  ;) .

Oh yea, I need to get an oil filter relocator kit (it hits the rails) , but I wanted one anyway  ;) .

Nice work!. Hey, when your all done there, come on over, I got a couple of "tasks" for ya! ;)

If you're going through all of the plumbing trouble of an oil filter relocator, it is a killer time to add an oil cooler! :sly: You may not need one but it lets you run the engine a little warmer while still keeping things under control.

IMO it depends how hard you run'em and for how long...

I thought about an oil cooler, but I really don't want to go into the motor right now to up the oil pressure (pumping losses from all the added length) , but I think I'll be ok with just the remote filter as long as I keep the lines short (might put it on the front of the front motor plate  :-\).

As far as how hard I run it, well, lets just say it doesnt have an easy life  ::)  ;D .  But it was built to handle me, and I only run it hard for a short time.

This is from when it was in the old boat  :o :o  >:D  MIGHTY BBF POWER BABY !!!

Now that looks a lot better.  I'll have to make that modification one of these days soon.

or you can use a short filter like this

i found no oil pressure difference in using it, its  a k&n 3001 i think
but know that i think about it your stringers may be closer together than mine ???

Ralph,  Maybe you just got one of the bad ones.  My oil pressure is at around 80 and it seems to be holding.  I have noticed some leakage around the remote oil filter fittings.

Well, maybe on my SBC I'll go for the tough parts just to make sure it all holds together.  I know, it's a Chebby but I think it will do the job I want to accomplish.  Once I've reached my goal with that, I'll sell it and get another BBF, if I can find one in decent shape and a good price.

Thanks Ralph , I didn't think of that.   My stringers are 26" apart, but I used 2 1/2" angle for the rails. So I have 4 3/4" +/- room for a filter, I could also just notch the rail a bit  :-\ .  But it did always bother me trying to change the filters when there angled like that (I'm messy and I always fill the filter with oil before putting it on ::)).    Ive seen the cheapy adapters come apart too, but I cant remember witch ones it was that are junk, might just break out the credit card and go with the billet stuff to be safe.

yeah it used to be messy for me too, until, Josh at JBP told my dumb ass to put the filter in a bag then take it off :banghead: :banghead: damn why didn't i think of that ??? (thanx Josh ;))

and on the race boat i still had to notch the rail to allow the hose to come off the filter pad

Ok,  looked at this web site...  What did you buy to move your oil filter?  ???
see the pic above
the filter is from peterson =pricey
filter pad is from earls =not so bad

you dont have to get the parts from there, just make sure the peices are billet.  Tom at JBP could probably get them for you at a fair price

If you just need it out of the way of the rail this might work, its a 90 degree adapter

Jegs has em, they cost a few bucks but they keep it extremely simple http://www.jegs.com/p/Ford+Racing/748369/10002/-1

As far as the pulley goes , my pulley and my balancer are the same piece.

And as far as my oil filter goes I bought the piece that josh was talking about a long time ago , and I love it.

Well I had a change of plans with the pulleys  ::) ,  Billy/ ironman and I created this a couple nights ago, so no more ugly alt on the front of my motor  ;D ;D ;D .   Now we just need to come up with a cool (easy) way to mount the alt back there (its always good to plan these things out in advance  ::) ;D )

Can't remember the name of the company, but they make a really cool stringer mounted alt bracket for Vee drives, I'm going to grab my old catalogues and find it. Vee drives sometimes use this setup. I really want to say its Glenwood, but fuzzy memory.
