Thought I saw somewhere on here that someone did their air bags on an Expedition. I need to do mine bigtime

It was ka0tyk

they're super easy... first and foremost in the passenger footwell inside the car next to the kickpanel there is a switch to disable the air ride system. turn it off.
undo the ride sensor that attaches in the middle of the axle. raise the vehicle up. pull the wheels off, look inbetween the frame and body and you'll see a clip, pull those out with some needlenose pliers. i then stabbed my airbags with a knife to let the air out. once deflated unhook the air line to them, they push in and twist, and then twist again. pull the airbags out, make sure the new bag has the oring in the air line socket, they should come with new ones. also on the air line on the car theres a small oring that should be replaced. put the bag in, make sure its clocked correctly and sitting in the cup, hook airlines up, put the clips back in. lower the car a little bit (dont drop it all the way it'll sit on the ground with the air bags not turned on) and flip the switch and turn on the ignition. the compressor should kick on and you're done.
i did rear shocks while i had it all apart. took like 5 more minutes to put the shocks in.

It looks like you jacked it up under the differential, that right ??? Man those things sure look different than looking under mine and seeing what's there. I won't need to stab mine tho, hell I am in the garage and I can hear one bag leaking air bigtime!!

Too funny Ken, LOL. I am kinda like you in that regards tho, but on this deal the vehicle doesn't get used very much, maybe once a week..... So on this one cheap it is!! Thanks for the info, I appreciate it  And how you and the family doing ???

Thanks for the info  Gottem ordered, prolly do them on Wed :banghead:

Hey Chaotic, I take it that when you had it on the stands you let the diff down to get the air bags out ??? And hell the airline on mine is between the frame and the air bag, can't get my hand in there, and also has a spring clip on it too. did your's ???
-
mine was just push and twist locked into the airbag. no clip. there is a clip on the very top of the airbag to the cup that it sits in.
i forgot about the swaybar... thats gotta get unbolted too for the rear axle to drop down enough.
watch this video on their uninstall
