First Jet Boat Project
« on: September 17, 2021, 09:19:48 am »
Bought this boat a few years back. Finally getting around to messing with it. I don't know much about Jet boats but have messed with a little of everything. Should be a fun adventure.

Plans are BBC, maybe a blower, new paint, new interior, redo the trailer.

I've considered ways to remove the stringer where the seats will be(going to be just a 2 seater), so I can lower my seat mounts. has anyone ever tried this? I'm thinking reinforce that 18" or so section with a custom 1/2" thick aluminum structure? Maybe pinch the stringers 2 feet forward and 2 feet backward, and then have big wide plates on the flat that connect the pinched plates? I ain't no engineer, but I feel like I could make it stronger than the wood stringer.

why lower the seats in the hull??? from what i have been lead to understand is you want the seats kinda on the high side. that way if ever the boat were to flip or roll you get tossed out NoT stuck in it or it hit you. better people can give you way more info but , leave the stringers alone . im redoing mine (not fun)

Some test pictures. Trying to see what size comes out best.
