With that extra ventalation I guess it won't get hot running it out of the water then will it.   

So, I'm pulling the Glasscutters 23.5' boat home the other night, when up ahead I see an intersection and a YELLOW light.  I think hmm, do I blow the light or try and stop.  To my right I see a cop, hmm, better stop.  BUT, the big boat doesn't want to and pushes me 1/2 way into the intersection.  I looked up and wave to the cop, he shock his head, waved back and drove off.

I thought you used the King Ranch truck to tow      not the 4cyl miata   ...    glad it wasn't me   

So, here's the beginning of the pump internals, wear ring was previously mis-installed and looks like a little "rock turned lathe action" between the impeller and the suction.  Made this a new ventilated impeller.

What pump is it? and what tricks you got up your sleeve?

John we really appreciated your bringing the boat up ,Great to meet and talk to you and the family sorry about the bad pump news post this AM ,repairs are pretty standard stuff, the rock gouges in the suction are easily repaired . with a little deburring and epoxy. If nothing else maybe this will explain the performance issues you were having ,theoretically the jet shouldn't have worked at all with the impeller and wear ring in the condition they were in  will keep you posted ..  ;DTom

BTW meant no offense at the big boat comment ,prolly would have helped if I had the trailer brakes hooked up

John heres some pics of the back of the boat (under the transom adaptor) gel and transom wood needed a little "help" and of the jet  reinstalled ,didn't get a good shot of the Impeller prior to install so I rolled under and took one we'll figure a way to fix that diverter hyd line this week  Tom

Dont worry  John we did some "magic" its ready to go sans oil change Do you have and oil preference ?

   What are those things that look like tiny lightbulbs.  Yur skeeering me now Tom.  That looks like a bit of rot too, I had no idea.

The light bulbs appear to be silicone,  little extra that squirted out    and don't be scared, your in good hands 
Think there's a flapper missing on the exhaust too
