glasscutters Jet
« on: April 08, 2008, 08:32:15 am »
So, I'm pulling the Glasscutters 23.5' boat home the other night, when up ahead I see an intersection and a YELLOW light.  I think hmm, do I blow the light or try and stop.  To my right I see a cop, hmm, better stop.  BUT, the big boat doesn't want to and pushes me 1/2 way into the intersection.  I looked up and wave to the cop, he shook his head, waved back and drove off.

So, here's the beginning of the pump internals, wear ring was previously mis-installed and looks like a little "rock turned lathe action" between the impeller and the suction.  Made this a new ventilated impeller.

John we really appreciated your bringing the boat up ,Great to meet and talk to you and the family sorry about the bad pump news post this AM ,repairs are pretty standard stuff, the rock gouges in the suction are easily repaired . with a little deburring and epoxy. If nothing else maybe this will explain the performance issues you were having ,theoretically the jet shouldn't have worked at all with the impeller and wear ring in the condition they were in  will keep you posted ..  ;DTom

BTW meant no offense at the big boat comment ,prolly would have helped if I had the trailer brakes hooked up  :banghead:
