I'm liking this approach. Also, Ralphs bolt on plate mounted tension piece.   Hmmmmm, might give that a try this weekend.

Many thanks to Skip and Ralph, I think that's gonna work.

John,  Be careful,  That's Ford set up and people will start to wonder about you.   ;D  Nice work there!

Hey John, I will be up in Seattle/Bellvue area for 4-5 days near the 20th of August for a wedding that my wife is part of. I was thinking one day while shes off doing wedding stuff I could come by and take a look at WALL-E!  How far are you from Seattle? I know there will be a boat trip involved.

Fantastic!
Piece of cake (I work in Bellevue) to get from there to here.  Go to the Seattle waterfront and either take the ferry to Bremerton or Bainbridge Island (Bremerton run is 1 hour or the Bainbridge run is 35 minutes).
We're about 15 minutes from Bremerton or 30 minutes from Bainbridge Island.

Keep in touch and we can grab some grub and tell lies.....john

Been a while.  The boat is now wired up and I used Painless Wiring connections. Nice stuff that shrinks and seals the connection

I hate the wires from the Alt to the starter but have some old SS nitrous lines that I may cut up and pass the wires through to "hide" them a bit.  Never the less, the thing is wired and plumbed.

Thanks to Tommy and Josh, and Lucky Stiff for all the help and advice.  This is coming together really nice.

;D ;D ;D  Thanks for the compliments.  I've been frustrated as hell cuz I've been testing the wiring and was getting some backfeed that I couldnt figure out.  Turns out I was a dumbass and wired up by voltmeter like a moron and it was backfeeding me.  All fixed after enough swearing to piss off have the town.

Hoping to fire it in a few days......stay tuned as this thing either starts or blows up.

Your seat cover left yesterday via UPS, she said it should arrive Wednesday 8/13. Let me know when you get it and PM me how much you paid to ship it down here so I can get that back to you as well. Thanks again for your business.

Aw man, while I appreciate the thoughts and kind words, I'll be honest with you and say that I'm making this stuff up as I go and have learned a TON through this project.  Folks like Tommy, Josh and Rhonda at Jet Boat Performance and guys like Skip at HOTSEAT have helped more than you can even imagine.  If this thing ever runs will be a miracle but regardless, I've enjoyed ever minute of the journey.

Now, back to business.  wired in the new Optima battery. picked up two waterproof inline fuses. One feeds the bilgepump that is triggered by a mercury float switch and is always on, ant the other that feeds the line that runs to the dash. From the dash it feeds a fuse panel that  is mounted under the deck (silicone adhesive and short screws that were scary to run into the wood of the deck).

Also modded the wire from the alt to the starter.  I think it looks better.  Ran heat shrink connectors, and mulitple layers of heatshrink before I ran the wire in the old nitrous line. I also sanded the SS braided line back from the edge of the nylon line to remove the risk of rub through.  Should  be killer and IMHO, looks much better.

Thats a -10 cushion clamp and a -4 cushion clamp tied together is a SS allen bolt.  Way overkill but I think it looks better......

It's Alive!!!

Lit off right off the bat (actually surpised me) and I ran it at a nice trot to give everything a nice splash of oil

Unfortunately, the dizzy hits the manifold so it's pain in the ass to try to time and for some reason I can't get idle to settle below 1500 rpm.  With that said, this thing is regoddamdiculasly loud.................gonna have to do something......(ps...the vid doesnt do it justice)

Thanks Greg.  Actually I have a new issue.  For some reason I all of a sudden have no fuel pressure (mech gauge) and the motor isnt running.  I had a bitch of a time getting it to prime earlier even though my tanks were 1/2 full.  As soon as I filled the tanks to full, the pump started working instantly.

I opened the caps thinking that the new ones might not be vented,,,,,,nuthin.

So, I'm starting to wonder if I have a leaking pickup tube that is letting me lose my prime.  I think I have a -8 plug and will try to separate the two tanks and see which is the problem child. otherwise, I suppose I'll throw some more fuel in it tomorrow and see what it does.

Stay tuned........... :-\
