Now theres an idea, but insted of welding it get some Architectural angle so you can make them out of one piece, then  just inlet the sides of the plate the thickness of the material.

Heres some 3 x 3 x 3/16 all the way at the bottom
http://www.metalsdepot.com/products/alum2.phtml?page=aangle&LimAcc=$LimAcc

Okay, Parts are on order........ Many thanks to Propless and Josh for the help and ideas.  I'll keep you all posted on this disaster.

I will offer that the interior framework is done, Glue n Screwed, Resin'd n Glassed.  Ended up taking 8" out of it and redoing all the wood but the seat backs.

Carpet is in (thanks Jan)......I think the black sets off the aluminum really nice.  Bolted up the linkage to the scoop and couldn't stand the anodizing on the brackets (purple) so sanded those down (crap what a job) and color sanded and buffed the pump plate (pics to follow soon).

Punk Azz Kid got home early from work so he's out there wailing on the ride plate......thanks Ian...........Yeehaw, we're getting there (got an order going together for you too Tommy)........stay tuned

Next time you need to strip anodized parts go to Lowe's/Home Depot and get a gallon of Greased Lightening.  Mix it 50%. drop the part in and watch it change colors.  WHere's the photo???

BTW, I've always used Easy Off oven cleaner on anodizing, takes it right off but do it outside, don't use the overnight crap.

Thanks guys.....Ah, enthusiasm in a can. There's been plenty of that consumed on this project.

Thanks for the tips on getting that anodizing off. I'll remember them if I ever have to do that again....which hopefully will be never... :banghead:

This is pretty funny, my little niece (she's 5) saw the picture of your boat engine and yelled out "Wally!".

Without having a clue what the hell that meant, I Googled it, here is what I came up with ..

I think you now have a name for your boat.

;D  Thanks.  Money was no object as I searched the globe for that wheel......actually, I got it from REX 3 years ago for some regoddamndiculas price.  I bet Tommy can come up with something similar. I can't remember what it cost exactly but it was real cheap.

Well, I pretty much wore myself out this last round but it feels good to be this far. Bad news is that my upholster is not returning calls or emails with a bid to do my interior and LuckyStiff is looking in to see if he can help me out.  Thanks LS

I did get a chance to hook it up to the truck and jockey it around the driveway/shop.  It does look good on the road if I don't say so myself. Now, if Tommy would just make a bigger sticker for my windows so I can do a better job of advertising..........

Interior dudes get busy this time of the year, but not returning calls is just plain rude!

I have a guy down here (SF Bay Area) who does some awsome work, very expensive but worth the money/wait...

Looks like thats about all you're missing...that thing looks pissed, even without Wall-E ;D
