That's what I do, just cruise around @2500-3000. Only used 12 gallons of feul at temple Bar. At cruising speed we're running a 8:1 454, I noticed your boost gauge, You'll be in the same boat. THEN when ya wanna spool her up to 4500 or so, hold on.

It's getting there.  We didnt dyno it and are currently massively underdriving it so I can figure it out first and then we'll creep up on it a little at a time.  Barry and Louis (Schlinder) are coaching me a ton on what to do with this thing.  Great guys...

Yah, I'm running almost 13% underdriven at the moment.  Blower is likely using more than it's adding at the moment.

The Eliminator will "cruise" on plane at  2200 rpms (15 gears 15 prop) (about 34 mph) The 256  blower takes a lot of RPM to make boost so 2 to 3 K is max efficiency  ;)  ;D

I'm running 10 over and still pull vacume at cruise speeds. Prolly gotta go 20 over w/ a 671 before it gets crazy, gonna make heat at that point tho.

Had a line on a Chiller earlier in the year but the funds just were'nt there.  Maybe next year......    In a perfect world, a chiller, and some go juice to stay as far away from detonation as possible is my hopes..

Been reading re the theory of "less heat when more compression and less boost"

Yup, Barry hooked me up at 8.75 for a ratio.  More compression and less boost.

Well, after having massive issues with my manifold being decked by a blower company incorrectly and leaving a uneven surface and having put the blower on and off far too many times in the last few weeks, the motor is back together for good. The company felt bad about the issue and offered to fix it but to be honest they didnt impress me over the phone and since they messed up once, I was reluctant to let them mess up again.  :screwy:

On the other hand, Marv Hineman at BoostPower and Don Hampton at Hampton Blowers were fantastic guys and will get my business from now on.  Just like our friends at JetBoatPerformance, outstanding service and tech advice without the attitude that I recieved at some of the other blower shops.

Barry Obler at Obnoxious Racing Engines was fantastic and had nothing to do with the screw up by the other company.

Now that the boat is back together and sounds so bad ass, I'm gonna clean the shop out and start to detail this pig out.

 ;D ;D ;D

Had a great day on the water yesterday.  Given the motor, wiring, fuel system and impeller were all new I didnt have much faith but am thrilled with the outcome.  No drama (other than a couple loose bolts).

Followed 95% of Barrys breakin instructions but messed up on the plug reading so I'll do better next time (sorry Barry).  Most of the boating was in the 3500 rpm range but I did run it to 5000 rpm for one short run (see video) and couldnt be happier with the results. I was no where near hard into the pedal!!!

Am going to change the oil and pull the valve covers to make sure everything is good and do a solid plug read day next time.

Many thanks to Barry Obler of Obnoxious Racing Engines and Tommy, Josh and Rhonda at JetBoatPerformance.  I appreciate the friendship I've made there.

Here's a quick video

Thanks guys. I'm really happy with it so far.

Nice Boat!  What lake were you on?

That's Dyes Inlet just below our house here.  Good news is there's a fantastic boat launch and endless water with little to no attention paid to noise.  The bad news is it's saltwater.

Smooth Salt water a minute away versus  fresh water over 1 hour away and all but un-boatable on a weekend not to mention the noise police are everywhere.

I'm glad you decided to boat close to home.  Now you can go just about any time you feel like it.  Just wash down and flush out and you're good to go.  I wish I were so lucky!  ;)
