Horsepower Fest 2019 Raffle Boat Build

This is the raffle boat build thread for the Horsepower Fest 2019 Grand Prize!

Horsepower Fest 2019 is benefiting the Semper Fi Fund, a program that helps wounded veterans of all branches of the US Military that have been wounded in post 9/11 battles. Last year Horsepower Fest raised and donated $10,000 to the Semper Fi Fund.

This is a 1979 Bahner Flat Deck. It was purchased as a complete boat minus motor. It will be completely restored from the ground up and by the time this boat is complete, it will be a brand new boat inside and out including the following:

Bostick Racing Engines Built 396/402 Big Block Chevy (Motor Build Thread Here: http://www.socaljetboats.com/index.php?topic=31761.0)
Freshly rebuilt pump by Place Diverter and Controls including droop, ride plate, and a hydraulic Place Diverter
Brand new Stringers installed by James Rankin
Freshly done Cap Job (Capping thread here: http://www.socaljetboats.com/index.php?topic=31869.0)
Brand new paint job by Khaos Kustom Paints (Mike Buschman and James Rankin) using donated Tamco Paint materials
Brand new Interior - two fiberglass buckets and a fiberglass bench
New cables, driveline/PTO, battery box, fuel fills, gauges, and steering wheel donated by CP Performance.
Battery donated by Battery Connection Inc
Restored trailer done by EBlast Dustless Sandblasting
Custom headers donated by Chad's Customs
Fiberglass Bench and Buckets donated by Twisted Liquid Marin

This boat is being raffled off at the 2019 Horsepower Fest on November 16th, 2019 at the Avi Resort and Casino in Laughlin, NV. Tickets can only be purchased the day of the raffle at the raffle booth at Horsepower Fest. Winner must be physically present to win. One of the biggest setbacks was that when we purchased this boat back in June, it had carpeted stringers and the rear 1/4 was boxed in with aluminum angle rails. Once we removed these boxed in rails and the carpet underneith it, we discovered that the stringers were broken straight through to the floor and also split down the length of the boat where the front motor mounts were. Initially we were going to scrap this boat and start over once we discovered this, but James Rankin volenteered to replace the stringers. The boat will be going to him next week to bang out this job on an emergency basis as we are very limited on time.

Quick update......James Rankin and Mike Buschman have been busting their ass. They got the boat flipped over and fixed some troubled areas including the cracked strakes.....the hit it with some filler primer then shot it with polyurethane single stage white and then clear. They are going to let it bake in the sun today then it will be ready to be flipped over and start on replacing the stringers and prepping the top for paint.

The trailer is over at e-blast dustless sandblasting in Menifee, CA....trailer has been blasted, they gotta weld up a few cracks, then they are going to primer it today.

Still waiting on the paint n stringers to be done. I wish I could get it to you guys sooner, but I cant rush Buschman and Rankin anymore than I have or else they will give up on me lol
