Title: Latest acquisition
Post by: beerjet on May 17, 2009, 05:29:10 PM
Team Cold Beer Racing was fortunate enough to aquire a bitchin little ride with TONS of potential.
For starters ,
THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE A RACE BOAT!
At least I hope not  :-\
First and foremost, the trailer, which was not the original trailer it came on, needs alot of work and the majority was out of nessecity.
Bunks WERE in the wrong spot.
Not anymore  ;D

Second was the winch stand that was on the trailer HAD to go .

I took pictures of it done and they didnt come out too well.
So I'll snap some more today

beerjet, I would like to offer my field engineering input here.....On the floater bar, put in a second bolt about a 1/2" down from the pin hole, the reason being, that deal can hit the hull, and I won't have it... ;)

Push up on the bar and you will see Whatum talkinbout. When I build em, I never make the slot section more tha 3/4" deep just for that reason.

Nice job! Make me fell lazy as hell. :sly:

I've basically been collecting parts ..... and stalling.
All the wood needs to be replaced and I know I'm a carpenter but I either have no time and money or no money and time.

So one of the things I wanted to address was the gas tank because I don't like the round tanks in the gunnels or how they are mounted.
Found a spun aluminum tank, had MadSkillz cut the ends off and reweld them back on and had THAT welded to the top of trapezoid shaped tank I've had in my recycle bin.
BOOM!
Big ol river tank!
No, I don't know how many gallons it  is but I will figure it out tomorrow.

WHOA keith!
Let's not rush things now!
Honestly, "the times" have been REALLY tough on me and instead of selling my stuff off,  I'd rather let it sit.
So that's what it's done.

Anyways. ....
New stringers.
No way around that.
:'(
This is me peeling the fiberglass off the stringers.
I thought since I'm going to have aluminium sandwiching the stringer all the way forward,  I could just reglass them.
But I'm opting them out.

Another thing I wanted to address was the gas pedal because the one I had was a floor mount deal and this boat does not have a floor!
So what do you do?!
Call MadSkillz that's what you do!
Made me a stringer mount for my stringers.
(Imma need 10% for everyone sold Nick.)

One of my all time favorite front men.
Fugazi AAAAND Minor Threat!
When I got my first bass guitar, I dreamt of being half as hardcore/punk rock as he and Minor Threat was
