so I have an itch for a boat i went to lake havasue a few years back and got a chance to drive a jet boat not sure what it was but it had a bbc w/ tunnel ram and was the bitchenest thing it was scary fast to me... well now here i am I saw a few boats on craigslist and my interest is back to full throttle I and am ready to jump in but i am having a hard time researching hulls and finding out were to spend my money wisely.
I have found a few tahiti projects but they have 455 olds and panther pumps. from what i have read that is a bad set up. question #1 how much skill is required to change over to a berkly pump? #2 are tahiti hulls good? i also found a "can am" boat that is pretty restored other than needing a motor it looks cool but i know nothing about what is a good hull and what to stay away from.
any help or advise on what to look for when finding a hull or boat would be greatly apreciated.

Tahiti made a decent hull. My father owned a Tahiti Tiger for many years.
I have heard the same about the old's blocks. They have a problem with oil flow at high RPM's....and panther pumps arent great, but work just fine for your family lake boat. I dont know the work envolved. I am sure it can be done easily by someone who has the time/patience/money/knowledge.
I have never heard of a "Can Am" hull.....got any pics of it?

In a week or two I might be selling a 18 foot tahiti with new interior and a berkely pump. every thing is ready to go just need a engine. Let me know if you are interested and we can discuss price.
