Title: Making boat fit
Post by: Infidel on February 10, 2018, 01:12:05 PM: Hey all, I don’t post on here much but I figured this may help those in the situation I was in. Jet boats suck when it comes to putting them in your garage because the pump makes the boat too long for most garages. The options are usually to park it outside or put the boat at an angle which destroys garage space and it sucks. So here’s what I did and it worked out pretty good.

For three years I had my boat at an angle which made it to where the ol lady had to park her car on the driveway. My downstairs office shares the rear wall to my garage. All I needed was about six inches more garage space to park the boat straight. So I poked a hole in the office/garage wall hahaha. Fuggit. Got tired of losing valuable garage space. But it’s not as bad as it seems.

Once the hole was made, I framed it, dry walled it, mudded it. All that’s left is to texture and paint it. Turned out pretty good. Just thought I’d share in case anyone else was in my situation.

Post by: Reed2017 on February 10, 2018, 03:40:09 PM: You can also remove the pins that hold on the last foot of the pump. Place a towel on your transom and accomplish the same thing. It takes about 5 minutes. The problem I found with my 3 RD car garage is the opening only fits a smart car. So I pulled the top header and made the opening bigger. Oh, had to get new garage door. Wife's like that! LOL🤣

Post by: Roadrunner on February 11, 2018, 10:59:19 AM: I remove the place diverter nozzle. I have a WJ Jacuzzi. I leave all the cables attached, 4 nuts, 1 steering bolt and it's off. Boat fits straight in

Yeah I put a Weld on Fulton Swing Away in there already. It still didn’t fit.

Post by: Infidel on February 11, 2018, 02:38:37 PM: Some good solutions on here. This just worked perfect for me. I’m building a desk and cabinets to go along that wall. The box won’t even be visible when the project is done. It just works and freed up valuable garage space.

Lol I was thinking the same thing I would have put in a window too then you don't have to go out to the cold garage to look at it
