Title: My 8-71 EFI Blower Project...off to a good start..pics..Long
Post by: TJS Nordic on November 20, 2007, 10:57:24 AM
Well after getting my BBC 77 Nordic Bubble Ready for 3 runs in the early fall I decided I want to get a jump on my second phase of the project. So this is now my winter project. I bought a Dyers 8-71 set up a year ago just for keeps sake of a future project. Well now the future is here. So I have acquired some parts, like a BDS bugcatcher modded for EFI(acts as a throttle body/plenum). Ross Machine fuel rails(big ones) and injector pocket cutting tool along with an o-ring boss cutting tool (for the fuel rail ends). I also got some 1.5 thick alum. plate for the injector plate. So I decided to start with the plate. I did some of the machining on my manual Bridgeport (Bridgeport, CT is the next town over from me) for the plate. However I needed to get the side walls to be .625" so the injector pintles protrude through. This meant I would intersect the center holes in the plate so I contacted my buddy with a CNC machine and he milled the inside if the plate and radiused around the center bolt bosses as you can see in the pic it came out great. I now have to cut the pockets for the (8) 96Lb bosch style low impedence injectors. I will be running the New Accel thuster EFI (Gen 7 sister).
I know BDS sells the injector plate but I wanted to make cause I can.

T.J.
