Hello all, just joined and this will be my first post. My great grandfather and grandfather have always been into jet boats and hotrods, so naturally i followed. I have just finished rebuilding my 86 sierra classic, about 450 at the crank before nitrous. My great grandfather passes away early 2006 and left his boat to my grandfather. In his time moving from Texas to Alabama about 10-15 years, the 454 was supposed to be being rebuilt. The previous owners of the boat decided to grind away material at the top of the cylinders and it would blow head gaskets with any real use. the 454 was set up for 250 wet shot of nitrous as well. As the years passed, more and more pieces of the boat went "missing" this included the engine block complete polished nitrous setup. What remains is a hull, berkley pump with what im told is a B cut, msd ignition, fuel pump and filter, the tanks, motor plates, cobra headers, high rise intake with dual 850 double pumpers, and bellhousing. the hull is in great condition minis a little fading in some spots. A few days ago the boat became mine. I plan on getting it running and putting in new upholstery to get it in the water. I am a college student working pretty much full time, but gas and tuition eats up most of my income so a restoration and paint is not in the schedule for now.
I am looking for as much information as possible. My grandfather thinks its a 70-71 year model. The tag is worn off all but "beachcomber boats".
Thank you in advance and I cant wait to be on the water.
Ps: I know she is filthy in the pictures but before i left to go home today I powerwashed her and am going to compound and wax it tmrw.
