Whats up everybody I just bought a 81 bahner 19footer with a mild 460 ford off a good friend, but needs a lot of work and im not very boat savy. hoping to make her nice, engine is complete with Berkley pump, all interior is gone including gauges, steering wheel, seats, carpet or flooring etc. But I think its a good start. just really hard finding parts for these boats It seems like. whats yalls go to store on here?

there really isnt a "go-to jet boat store" per say... typical sites are:

keep an eye out on craigslist, scjb.com's for sale section, riverdavesplace.com for sale section, and performanceboats.com for sale section. you'll come across some GREAT smokin deals from time to time to help you save some money.
congrats on your new boat. there is a TON of information here to help you, and if you cant find it in the search results (my only gripe with this site is the search feature sucks) feel free to post up some questions. dont forget to post pix of your progress!

I would agree that's a lot of work ahead of you. If you're sold on that boat and want to see the project through, I would suggest you look around for a donor boat. Maybe find a boat with a junk motor, but otherwise complete for under a thou. You'll be a ton of money ahead by the time it's over. Get all your rigging and gauges, maybe even interior for pennies on the dollar. It's amazing how much all those small parts add up to when you have to buy everything and fully rig a boat, even when they're used parts and your getting the good guy price. You may also want to make sure that pump is good before you get to deep, otherwise that's a BIG BITE you got there. Good luck

^ well put, I have been pricing things out and yea it aint gonna be that cheap. how do I check the pump, I found my self looking at it the other day and stuck my hand up in there and tried to spin the wheel and it does NOT spin freely...

Pretty sure that "wheel" youre refering to are the vanes in the bowl and they are not supposed to move.... You might be thinking of the impellar?? Thats behind the bowl, and itll only spin when the motor is rotating or the pump is disconnected from the engine.

ok makes sense, I don't know boats really well yet. but im learning more on here everyday hopefully I can start on it soon. just ordered new tuning and compound turbos for my truck this week so in another paycheck or so I can get cracking.

meh, sure all that stuff adds up but then you can have things the way YOU want them, not someone elses clapped out junker parts that have been sitting around baked in teh sun for 3 years that he wants top dollar for. If theres anything I've learned over my lifetime of boating is that shit happens at the WORST possible times and its usually that ONE thing that you cheaped out on or didnt replace when you had the chance.
Do it right, take your time, and post lots of pix! Boats are easy, and its VERY easy to get carried away... but it doesnt take much to get a runner... just remember SAFETY FIRST!
My suggestion is to pull everything apart. At this point you have nothing, everything is in an unknown state whether it works or not (even if you bought someone elses "perfect running boat" you still have no idea on its condition, it could break 2 minutes up river on your first trip). So go through everything one by one, take an inventory of what you have, and what you're missing. Its winter time so you have plenty of time to get things scrounged up parts wise and there will be PLENTY of deals out there. Just get it all removed, take your time now and get it all clean and the way you want it and then assemble.

cleaned her out pretty good last night, it just keeps raining and its hard to work on it when I gotta keep covering it for rain. but anyway found bunch of old wires and gauges which are all basically junk, half a box of a new gasket set which doesn't sit well cause it most likely had a cheap top end only build. also found two brand new in the box cables I think ones for throttle dunno what the other is for, has a steering cable and box thing, and foot pedal. thinking I wanna just seal that pump real good hook up everything NEEDED and make sure it floats and drives, then once I know its ok start with all else. under it yesterday and bottom of the boat is in great condition and looks like the inside as well but im curious what they used on the inside? I need to paint the top of the boat but its already sanded should be a breeze once I do it.
Still puzzled on mounting when it comes to these, like what to bolt and screw into that will be ok?
Pulling out my fuel tanks tomarrow to repaint and then maybe a trip to are local Bergeron boat store to get some ideas and prices on parts.
