Although I am not new to boating, this is my first actual boat in my ownership.
I haven't taken delivery of it yet. Its got an Olds 455 with a Jaccuzi pump, both have zero hours on a rebuild. The paperwork I have states its a 1972 Omega 19.1, although it actually measures out to be 21' stem to stern, its a closed bow. The engine and interior were removed for rebuild and recovering and thats were the project stalled for the owner. He has all the recovered seats in the boxes and the engine has been reinstalled. The floor will need a fresh coat of resin prior to new carpet, but the wood appears to be in decent shape. The boat was last registered in 2011 and the dual axle trailer has PTO tags on it.
I don't know Olds engines at all, but BBC/SBC/LSx are my bread & butter, so if the Olds dies, I will likely drop in a warmed over 454.
I searched around in the internet and I haven't found much on Omega boat hulls. Are they decent? Its got a v hull, instead of the flat bottom jet boats that my Father owned when I was a boy, which is fine because I remember my teeth fillings nearly falling out on amy amount of chop, not to mention white caps.
Anyway, any tips, tricks, and/or suggestions would be great.
