Not sure where to start. Ive been doing alot of reading and your site is full of info and ideas. I purchased a 69 sleekcraft last weekend. Ive already torn the olds 455 down , its on its way to the machine shop and now Im trying to find some odds and ends. Looking for some gas fillers with the pop tops and any accesories for the 455. If anybody knows of some items or a place to look for them I would greatly appreciate the help? This project is kind of a nostalgia project my dad owned a 79 its the boat with the mural.

I likie the mural! Not a bovine, but ok! I'll go with that!
Welcome, where's the pics of the project?

Welcome to the world of SCJB ;D
A great source of parts and information is Jet Boat Performance. If you look around long enough you'll find a link to their web site ;)
As noted already, WE LIKE PICS

Looks like it will make a better boat than a recycle bin ;D

Welcome 69er.
Nice looking boat, are you sure its a 69?
The lines look newer than that and the tiger stripes too.
-
With the exception of the full width engine cover, looks mighty familiar!!!!
Looks like your kicking some ass on the thing too!

we're trying, finally got the head studs in and can bolt up the top end. Never thought trying to build a 455 olds was gunna be such a pain. Parts are few and far between. If I'd know now, I would have built a BBC instead and saved some guessing games. Oh well there is always project #2 haha

Your roller rockers look a lot like the Proform kit I got from Summit for a BBC that was popping the ends off of my push rods. Make sure the push rod fits properly in the rocker (not to tight).
Good luck with the build. ;D

Don't ask how he knows that! >:D (That's a story unto itself, well the whole weekend was, reflects on my problems too!!!!)

The comment is more derogatory about ME and MY boat than his boat, trust me!

Well Sum Bish- you dont see an aluminum headed olds everyday- thats cool

Tonight we got the head studs put in, the heads torqued down, the inner springs tore out of the heads and the pushrods and rockers installed. I cant wait to fire this thing up!! Its got a .542 lift cam in it. It should have a hell of a lope to it once we get it broke in and reinstall the inner springs in the head. Willl keep updated.

Quick question? The boat has not had an engine running in it for a few years. what should I do to check on the pump to make sure its ready for this beast im getting ready to drop in. Ive read somewhere that I should be able to twist the impeller by just turning the shaft by hand ,is that true? Any advice would be great. Thanks ( it a 12JE A berkley)

Finally got her running check her out. Should be in the boat by the end of the week

looks like you're almost ready for the lake. Is the yota in the background of the boat pic an alltrac or just a gt?
-
The celica is just a donor car for a 95 celica right hand drive that im building also. Why do you need some parts? I'm parting it out .
-
Only if it was an Alltrac, I have my 90 that I need to rebuild one more time. This time it will stay in my garage and not be loaned out to a better home. Came back with two holes in the pistons, cracked rim, and some tears in the interior. Oh well, at least it came back. Next build I'll be shooting for 500 whp at all 4.
