Very nice Nick, you might have to change the Alternator to a one wire setup because your using a volt gauge know.
Gt maybe I'm wrong the little box be hide the Alternator has a wire going to the Amp gauge now he's running volts no need for the wire, run the Alternator wire to the battery.
Looks good Nick. Are going out local for a test run, if so post it, i'm sure a few of us will show up.
we should get all of the hallett owners to meet somewhere. that would be cool.
Park Moabi in needles!
It'll be a long hual for you though Repo .

I say the river is for queers.
;D KIDDING! The delta is about 7 hours North of OC, I'm in Bakersfield so the river, the delta, Lake San Antonio or Nacimiento, hell they're all good by me
I was totally kidding about the river, I remember Parker when Sundance was open, naked waterskiing, titties everywhere, a big boat was a 21' day cruiser. my boat? not much to tell, 78 Hallett, 468 BBC, 70 MPH lake boat.
Nick,
Nice work on the Hallett, man. It's cool to see a newbie kickin some veteran a$$ when it comes to getting their boat together. Good luck on the test run at smellsommore. Noticed you talking about a family place on the river and a buddy's accross from the Sherriff's station. Any chance you know John or Todd Trobridge? They live in Fountain Valley and have had a place in Parker for years and years... Just curious.
Great job Nick did you open it up a little how did it plan out what kind of RPMs,did you get the pluming down right?
nice work nick!! the only concern i have is the boat not being able to "flex" the way it wants too...the whole reason the float bar is there is so the boat can "float" on the trailer in the front...this of coarse relieving strain on the hull...having that wheel there now creates a hard spot that could put stress on the hull where it meets the rubber wheel...imagine if the hull took every bump in the road on that spot instead of the trailer being able to absorb the shock and distributing it evenly throughout the hull...i think i better solution would be to add spacers under the bunks which would in turn raise the entire hull off the trailer...i know what kind of look you are going for so that option would kind of collide with the whole idea. another thing would be to move the float bar back so the keel is far enough back it wont hit...the only problem there is the boat being to far back on the trailer...do you have a pic of how it sits on the back of the trailer??? it may be too far forward from the beginning...my charger sat way to far forward for many years until i fixed it. last option would be to heat up the cross member and pound the sharp edge down...or cut a small section out and re weld a plate for aesthetics. either way great work...my hull is finally done on mine...waiting for the powder coater to finish up so the pump can be installed.
I hear ya bro, and trust me I thought about the same thing. I guess I forgot to say that the problem of the boat hitting the trailer really only happens when you load and unload the boat from the trailer from what I can see. I think the trailer would really have to flex something fierce to make it actually contact the boat while in tow.
So my theorie was to put that rubber wheel on and keep the loading and unloading problem from occouring again. I know in those pictures it's hard to tell but the wheel is actually not touching the boat at all times. It's about a half inch off the boat, so there is still room for the flex.
As for the boats location on the trailer. It's already as far back as she can be, I thought the same thing. I think I've got it nailed now, the whole thing is just more solid now. IMO the trailer was flexing excessivly, it is 32 year old technology after all.
