Hello all, I'm looking for some help here.
I have a 1973 Cutlass that my dad purchased new when I was young. It is in great shape for its age, but there are a few things I need to resolve.
The boat has log manifolds and over-the-transom risers that are completely water jacketed, which makes it nice for families. The biggest issue I have is that, after nearly 50 years, the exhaust tube has corroded, so water leaks from the jacket back into the exhaust and into whichever exhaust valve that is open (usually the #5 cylinder) - hydrolock - the very issue over-the-transom headers are meant to avoid.
I would like to replace the risers with something comparable, but I cannot find them anywhere. I will be sending Hardin Marine an email asking if the can custom-manufacture them as well. I would like to keep it as close to the current configuration as possible.
If anybody has a lead on who can supply these headers/risers, I appreciate it!
Additionally, where is the best place to have the interior re-upholstered? I am in Bakersfield, but I can travel if necessary.
Thanks
Klint
