I will post more pics soon, It was a decent start, at one point someone put some time into it but we all know what it is like to hit the water with an "unknown"  I plan on cleaning the whole thing, Trailer and all.....

Maybe even a few upgrades...

It ran good. Sounded crisp and clean. According to a iPhone gps it ran about 65mph i dont know how accurate that is but it sounds about right.

anyone have any photos or tips on cleaning up the wiring? It seems like most of these things were slap stick together without a whole lot of thought behind the electrical. It has the typical wire junction on the back bell housing and a remote solenoid hanging off it somewhere. Looks like someone threw a wire bomb in the back of this thing.

You could start by removing all the hardware in the bilge area relocate the fuel pump pull out all the wire from that mess and run it on the left side of the boat up under the gunnel

yeah that photo was last week, I gutted everything and am starting over. I am making a plate that will mount by the battery and it will hold the breaker for the alternator, remote solenoid and the MSD box. I think I have a good game plan but want to hear and see what else has been done out there.

That looks great, There is nothing worse than having an electrical problem on the water then when you look into it you cant figure out what is going on!

Welcome to the site, also.  Most everyone here has excellent advice to offer based on their own personal experiences.  Boost is a great person to listen to and use as an example, as I'm sure you could tell by his hardware.  Good luck in the clean up and on a successful boating season!

I also found out that the bow is filled with spray in foam, Is this something I should leave or take out? The reason I ask is the Brendella boat project on this site, the owner mentioned taking it out. Love to hear some feedback on that topic-

Welcome Jetboatunderground, and nice find.  Those Sangers are great looking boats.

 About my Brendella and the foam.  The reason I'm so set on removing it is because the bulkhead is broken and needs to be replaced anyway.  Plus I suspect the foam has soaked up alot of water over the years. When I picked up the boat it was sitting (outside uncovered) with the bow down.  The cracking around the bulkhead would have let water get under there to the foam.  And the Bow is really really heavy.  After time the foam can absorb water like a sponge, it turns into a nasty, smelly, heavy mess.   If nothing looks cracked around your floor or bulkhead, I would leave the foam alone for now.  It will help with floatation and adds some support.  The foam is not a bad thing as long as its still dry.

I'm lovin it! Great boat! Outstanding condition really, love the lines on it! Fell in love with OC2's Sanger when it was here. Made plenty o' plans for that boat if he didn't want it, lol! Kinda hoped he didn't!

Speaking of which, is that thing ready for water yet!?!
