Wow, it's been almost a year since I decided to tear my boat apart and rebuild it. I went from that hull (78 Python) to a 78 Record 7 hull. Well, here's where I'm at. These are what I need to finish by catagory.

sanding & paint
carpet
upholstery
replace all cables
new rub rail or cap it???


Setup

drill motormounts & stringers
install everything, motor, pump, stereo, new guages, etc, etc, etc.


I can thank the Governator for f'ing up my plans to be on the water this year lol . If the overtime would ever open up again, I could have her done in a couple of months. As for right now, I'm trying to keep my hopes up to have her in the water by next summer. We'll see.

Looks a lot like a Hallet Jet Sprint. Should take rough water good.

I'm just hoping that she'll do 70-80mph without major work on bottom or pump setback etc.

Shouldn't be an issue, my boat's got the same bottom, mid 70's all day long.

Thanks to Ron, I found out a lot of cool info about my boat. I talked to the original owner of Record 7 boats, he told me that all the boats were constructed with ISO resin which is much stronger than regular resin. I also found out that my hull is a Howard copy. They had a deal with Howard boats back then. He did several of Howard's wood decks. Record Boats also ran a blown fuel flatbottom race boat. He also owned Trimetric Marine making production and custom brackets and mounts etc. for several of the bigger boat manufacturers. He told me several of his designs are still in use today. He is supposed to email a copy of the original artwork for the Record 7 logo/nameplate design. Talking to him really got me excited about restoring my boat.

I bought my pedal today. I can't wait to see how it looks when it's all done.
