Unfortunatly, I have big plans that wont be able to come to fruition with my single income.
Mama is in school and I'd like to buy a house before they are out of reach again.
Anyways, the plan is to go big :screwy:

Yah buddy!!! Hell for stout......... pics please...... ;D
There is a great story behind it (I think it's great anyways) and in the process I made a great friend.
I havent had a chance to really go over it.
It actually came out of a 23' Cougar tunnel and had a whipple on it.
I met some super cool folks rounding this bad boy up.
I'll head down to Team Cold Beer Racing headquarters and snap some pics and do some snooping around.
Thanks again Greg ! ;)

So I decided to go down into the labs of Team Col' beer Racing today.
Snapped a couple of pics.
Any info and specs and capabilities will be appreciated.
Maybe Glen can help me out with this one.

So I get one head peeled off, Low and behold three of the four bolts along the very bottom row have the heads ground down on an angle.
One is down so far, my socket wont grab it well enough to take the bolt off :banghead:
Tommorrow the grinder comes out
No biggy.
If it was easy, it wouldnt be fun :D

Nah nah .
Not complaining.
That was a hickup compared to the sh!t I've had to deal with in the past.
I figured it was the exhaust that caused the issue.
Everything is good so far Greg.
Been busy at work finally.
I get antsy and start fockin with sh!t.
I'll give ya ring tomorrow during the day.

I am pretty sure the 088 is the direct replacement for the 990 as relates to the gen 6 block

:D I believe you ! I believe you !
I've never found any reference to the runner cc's on the 990's so whatever those were, I knew the 088's would be the same being the replacements.

From what I've read, and I could be wrong, 990's are great heads for a factory iron head BUT they really don't start making their power until 6500 RPM or so, that being said, a set of 781 oval ports are a good choice for a jet boat, at least that's what I got from it.
-
More money on new heads :banghead: hell big are you going on this Omar?

You know Glen.
I thought about it.
I remember a science assignment in elementary where we had to figure out the volume of random objects using the same method.
It would just kill me to ruin a perfectly good set of heads.
It's not like I want to do some serious grinding on it anyways, just smooth it out a bit.
I just dont want to screw it up.

Omar ,hows it going? You know there's tons of motors running those heads and alot of them run very well. Do some research on builds using those heads that will def help you make your choice of cam /intake which you ALREADY KNOW is more important to overall performance. I have a set of 781 if you want them but than i think you have headgasket sealing issues with the gen 6 block could be wrong on that though. puttin a buch of shit for -sale in classifieds if you know some one thats wants something buzz me PS raining like hell right now

Thanks Greg .
These heads are really close to what I want from the aftermarket anyways.
I might have chosen a larger port just in case c.i.d. limit goes up but these should support quite a bit right where I'm at.
I just want to build something stout.
We'll see what all this Chevy iron can do :D

Ya can't put Mk IV 781 heads on a Gen VI block. I think iron heads & manifolds are the best choice for boats vs aluminum anyways.
The expansion/contraction rates are the same as the block.
No corrosion issues of aluminum.
they run cooler than aluminum.
and the best reason is......
they are cheaper!!!!!
