Thought I'd share this with you folks Tom...Cleaned up the parking lot yesterday ,Took one to the Dump (poor old Rebel) One is just too nice to "cull" Found a pretty nice boat under that grime Were going to try for a 70mph 2 seater for under 5k investment ( $500 for the boat sold $650 off it ,start cost is -$150 ) Whatdaya Think? Guys

2 savage your right heres the motor (attached) and today I got (Son) Josh to give me his "trick" WJ jet (about 250.00 invested ) he was building for the Spectra ,this pump has the Jacuzzi equivelant of a Berk AA .the Jet bowl and Impeller are a rare Jacuzzi venture call a "PX" (I'm guessin PX = performance??) Bearing cap is pure "custom by Josh" Also I rediscovered the "DA" sander ,screw the hand sanding ! Almost ready to buff and wax Tom
btw GOOD observation on the motor..heres some dope on the motor:From Josh's now "abandoned" Spectra 20' project (after we helped him buy the Glastron 20') This motor is a 434 cu BBC Stroker (402 with a 454 iron crank ,9.5 to 1, KB Hyperutectics stock rods,990 rec port heads, comp hyd roller, used lifters) Investment ,$2250.00 so far (includes some used parts $ @at my cost)

Atta boy Tommy. Good to see this post over here ("iff'n you know what I mean ;D)
Best of luck and keep after it. I think you're going to start 8 months later than I have and finish 8 months earlier......
Seeya and say hi to Rhonda and Josh for us......John
-
I've been wrenchin on my heap for years and it still dont look as good as your "budget project" ??? I think I missed the grand sceme of things somewehere . Its coming together like a dream ! Great work.
-beerjet-
-
Damn, I didn't notice the dual quad set-up in the earlier pics, sexy valve covers too... Tom must have been taking notes on my Miller project... J/K ;D
-
Thanks John (good to see you too ! Nice folks here they wont mind another "Old Guy") ,Beerjet and Rod Like i said elswhere this was a budget deal ,when Josh was building this for the Spectra he was and is on a tite "string" So he shopped hard the covers were an ebay score so was the intake. heck the rod and mains are King brand they were well under 50 bucks . I blew a big chunk of remaining budget yesterday and bought the "shelf carbs" cause I'm gettin impatient ! One interesting thing about the motor is that it make peak torque at 4400 so it will be interesting to see how it handle that Jacuzzi aa (PX) going in in a bit to do some more work to it .Hope to be "turnkey" maybe today or at least early next week . Still got to buff and wax it More later Thanks Guys Tom
-
That's how you do it, Get 'er done! ;) ;D

Ok so you started august 21st and now you've almost got it running ?!?! Talk about motivation, but then again that's 5 grand in a week. Wow man that's some cool stuff you're doing. So is the Jacuzzi pump worth "rebuilding" if someone was bout to do it? And are you going to run a place diverter? Very nice work very fast it seems, over budget yet?
-

Hey Tom,
You can get a couple of cans of Rust-O-Leum for those headers and make them look just fine... The have a nice silver... I think thay call it Oki-Chrome! :o Looking good Bud!!! Did you know your motor is sitting in there a little crooked? ;D

Greg
ghetto chrome? :o
I dont think the motor is mounted just yet....check out the c-calmp holding the railkit to the stringer :D
-
Ghetto chrome LMAO!! Trust me Greg with no water injection the rust will oxidize pretty quick ! Brad your right thats our also "ghetto" $40.00 rail kit not yet drilled and mounted as yet (he ,Josh was busy with honey do's makin some kind of frickin "high mount" device for his huge a$$ TV today !! Anyhow were on a roll.. funny I figured you guys would comment on the Gay seats lol Tom
-
pw,
Good call, squeaking really close to my dollar goal. Holding back a couple hun as a hedge incase the hot rod won't run 70, may have to cheat and put NOS on it, LOL. The jacuzzi WJs are still, in my opinion very decent performing jets as designed. Nothing in the budget for a Place Diverter, Josh has something in his "scammed from Dad" parts cabinet I think????
Tom

Realy NICE choice on the color Tom , are you trying to make a statement?[attachimg=1]
J/K Good to see you here ! ;D
-
How did he do that ::) ???
Lookin good Tom.
-
I figured you guys would comment on the Gay seats lol Tom
Tom, You can't say anything about the "GAY" seats, that isn't politically correct and should someone say something about them, some FAGOT ACLU member would be knocking on their door demanding they be exile to some maggot infested 3rd world country where camel...... Well you get the idea. LMAO :o Besids, is there such a thing as a "Gay seat?" Other than in San Francisco! >:D
-
RE Seats Interesting thing about this industry (and always has been) because these Boat when built back in the day, almost always came with custom interiors made up by local shops for the various builders . Its very hard to find much of anything out there thats "production" for quick and simple use. Seems like a Great market to me for the right entreprenuer with a industrial sewing machine and a little talent. We've used/sold loads of small fibergless buckets over the years but its always a bitch to find someone to make snap in covers for realistic prices. If anybody has a upholstry contact out there that is ambitious and resonable I'd appreciate it Tom

Well, Tom,
Looks like you are making a lot of headway. Have you got it close to being ready to fire up? I sure would like to have a shop big enough to do all the things I want to work on.
Greg
-
Greg can't argue that I'm working at home today and I know i'll make Mad dashes to the shop to get tools and do minor stuff The shop has spoiled me for "home work" Tom
re : the Miller, I got carpet, Gas tank ,some plumbing buff and wax to do after Josh finishes The motor install .. (I hope)

Well, I'm going to run to West Marine and get rapped on a bow stop but I sure don't want the bow chewed up again. I've got to do some trailer welding and cutting and then put the throttle, trim controls and seats back in and I may be ready to take it to the river.... I hope.
I still have lots of little things I want to fix but they can wait. You're doing a great job. Greg

Hey Tom, it's looking good. I noticed on the back of the engine, where the engine plate attaches to the block, there's a bellhousing/cover for the flywheel. What's that part called? Is it a bellhousing off of a car or truck or ???

What horsepower rating are you expecting , and what impeller are you running and last but not least what top speed are you anticipating?
-
Even if you go ver your budget , you still get a great idea of what all is invloved in something like this . Swapmeets also have great deals if you take your time and do a little bit of shopping . Takes a little longer but you should be able to stretch your budget out a little more .

Marcs I'll find Josh's "Dyno sym" projection and post up #s later today. This motor is pretty unique in that it is the first we have done this way. 454 Mark 4 blocks are getting scarce but there are a Glut of 396 blocks around. Very few manufacturers other than KB were/are offering a "Shelf" piston for it. Beyond the slugs, block and oil filter kit, this motor is mostly "454" It makes decent HP and Mad torque (for the investment). It was also cheap to build (it does require balancing), especially with Josh "scrounging" on ebay and in our warehouse, etc. Even the heads were crack repairs (drilled and pinned by a machinist freind who's been schooling Josh on the lathe and mill).
Beerjet, for years (more than I'd like to admit ) I've been able to look beyond dirt grime and junk and see potential in old boats, cars and such. When I was a kid I had to junkyard shop, repair and scrounge 'cause I simply didn't have the "scratch ". Most of the work that's gone into this over two weeks time was strictly "grunt" work. The Miller will never be a show piece but its been a fun exercise & entertainment for us us, and hopefully others . The boat should be done today for all intents a purposes.
Thanks to evryone for the interest and support, Thanks Brad for the opportunity to post up the progress.
Regards Tom

I noticed the wedge on your pump is installed backwards from every other wedge I've seen installed. I know you did that on purpose, what's the deal Tom? ;D
-
Good observation Rod, that particular WJ bowl (PX) had been massively "milled' off at the nozzle adaptor flange with "up" angle Josh made the wedge yesterday to "zero" out the bowl so we could have a "starting point /reference" point .The AT droop ,which we adapted to this also yesterday has significant "up" to start with Tom

Hey Greg , no "wetness" yet We ran the motor in for a while yesterday ,it lit the first crank and idled which means young Josh did his job well ! We really can't wait' but ,Today were going to help a "brother boater" from the valley fix a jet to try to get him back in the h20 for the weekend. I'll detail the Miller this weekend and maybe we can make a "blast" somemorning next week . Meanwhile i'm tring to load up the vid from yesterday Tom

Sounds good to me... But then I'm not too sure about my old speakers. Mine sounds like crap, to me. I also did my video using my Nikon CoolPix 5700 digital camera. That could have something to do with it as well. Good work Tom and Josh!! Greg

This is the kind of stuff I like to see. Great progress Tom.
Wish I lived ALOT closer, to be there when you get to do your water trials.
Awsome stuff! can't wait to see more ;D

bkpelsh Thanks its just about to change (Fresh one on the stand ) So's I don't jack my own post ,maybe I 'll start a "project Eliminator' thread lol Tom
-
Tom- That Miller looked sweet! Not to jack a thread but I have to say this about Tom. We put the our boat in the water at nacimeinto saturday morning, loaded up with ez up's, coolers, and chairs for the day beach. Before I pushed off the trailer I turned her over and no fire! Pulled the boat out and back to the house we went. It took a good part of the day trouble shooting the problem. Petronics went out on the dist. Made a call to Tom's shop, thought forsure there would be no answer. To my surprise his wife answered the phone. Told Tom the problem and he said come on down right now. A half an hour later we pulled up to Toms shop, he handed me a dist. that he had already put together for me and sent us on our way. Got back dropped it in, found # 1 and it fired right up!!! ;D ;D It was dark so we thought what the hell we'll set the timing in the morning. Woke up all excited to take the Miller out for some Labor day fun. Drove back to the launch ramp put the boat in again... hit the key and heard the worst grinding noise, starter took a sh*t on me :( Called around nobody had one, weekend was over for the Miller but lucky we were up there with some cool friends and we hanged with them all weekend long on there boat.
Tom, Thank you for waiting around for us and hooking us up with that dist. I'll give you a call later on. Bummed we didn't make it over to see you guys on Sunday. I liked reading about the Miller project. Looks better in person! Keep up the great work! And when are we going to see some numbers from that Miller?

Don't tell Tom I said this, I wouldn't want him to get the BIG HEAD or anything ::), BUT, he is a pretty good guy to help out. I'm to far away to just drop in but I can call and get tech help and he gives it freely! TOM - DID YOU HEAR THAT???? Oh good, Whew!! :o
-
Tom has helped me out on the phone several times as well. He's extremely helpfull and patient. ;)
-
Thanks Nate (and the NEWLY WED wife, congratulations!! ) great to see you guys again Bummer that the starter "dumped" if its any consolation BOTH batteries on the big boat were stone dead when we dumped the boat in Sunday (and I charged them the nite before ) Oh well there was lots of beer ,and a battery charger at the cabin Thanks everyone else for the kind words we really try hard to keep everyone happy !! SOOO..... I blew the budget again today with the very cool velocity stack covers I got at Longs Drugs $1.95 apiece More pics soon Thanks Tom

You can always wake surf......... I don't paddle out as often as I'd like too. When the surf is firing, the line-up is crowded....... the good old days are long gone for sure!!
-
Toes ,I'm happy just drivin by and checking the "old spots" (Pismo pier etc) I was trippin a couple weeks back on the small surfer boats 'anchored" outside the big bay (SD) while the owners surfed the north point!! Me I'm Too Old and outa shape to get out there and rip lol Tom
ps the "toes " thing got me goin cause I once owned a STG "Morey Pope Nose Rider"

Very cool...... my younger shredding days are long gone....... I only take the longboard out. I ride a Robert August 9'6" that's a blast when it's 2-3'

Thanks again for the parts and ideas today !!
-
Jeff we enjoyed the company and always welcome visitors! We'll get the Miller out PDQ to our secret spot for the test and tune, we play "ranger tag" (for a while till they get bored) Then we can make a couple hard passes .Were still really busy as you could probably see but the "fall slow down" is starting to show a little Tom
-
Okay Sweetpea, you and Josh have had enough time to get that thing in the water. How bout an update......... ;D
ps.........the Miller looks bitchin.......congrats

What does the RR stand for? Rough and Ready (maybe)? ;D
haha......Rough Riders!
its River Racer....its a 'show up and race' or 'run what ya brung' class for average guys to just race their boats without becoming a full blown NJBA member....theres no points or trophies....just a time slip and a fat grin ;D

Thanks. Y-all have to remember I'm new to this era of boating and haven't kept up since the late 60's, early 70's when many weren't even thought of yet. :D Tom, are you working today?
-
Re working : I'm in after about noon Tom

Looks really good Tommy. Why doesnt Rhonda run that in RR class? She'd have a gas...... Besides, you've got a certain blower motor going together.....
-
I'll tell you this when I let her drive the Flatty and "shotty" I have to keep "tapping her" and pointing to the tach!!! :o Tom

Simple fix Tom , turn the scoop around, change the RR to CJ and bring it to the circle races !! ;D I hear Jet Boat Performance is offering help to those who need it. ;D

Jeff your right "i'm pretty needy too" bad part is I endulge myself with some regularity as it is !!
The Miller will get some straight line use at the Classic V-drive meet (end of Oct) if it hooks up and runs we'll see from there .. Tom

Nope no parts yet, (boating season is over here anyways :-[) but... how much over budget was that scoop? I'm thinking it would look real nice on My Boat ;D
-
Rob we sent the ext usps (probably a mistake) if it doesnt show PDQ let me know ,re the scoop it was 125.00 plus two "rattle cans" of rustoleum ,a little tape and decals (I gave them to me,lol) I made the rope guard today out of a old stainless cav plate rod and a turnbuckle (pics tommorow) other than that I'm very close to my 5k budget about 250 + or - ...Tom
-
building that boat and staying even remotly close to that budget is very impressive, now lets see the scoop on the boat and some video of it runnig ;D

Where is San Antiono Lake at? I have no idea.
Marc,
Lake San Antonio is above Paso Robles in Central CA. About a 5 hour drive from the OC. 2 1/2 hours from Bakersfield. It is a beautiful lake. If you know where Lake Naciemento(sp) is then you know where LSA is. The family and I go a couple times a year. Hope this helps. Good Luck Tom!!!
Bob

So whats the final bill? I think I read somewhere that you were near or just over budget awhile back in this thread.
-
I think he was around $500 over when he started to make it look pretty . I never saw any numbers being posted in relation to what every item cost . Lookin bad ass Tom , pink and all !

Guys didn't run the Miller boat (flatty only) Josh couldn't make it up and the lake was blown out Saturday were gonna try for later this week .Re "the budget' I'm right around 6k but most overage was elective not neccesary (just cant leave anything alone) Rebel I down loaded the free "dvd conversion" again and My desktop crashed again !! Same thing happened last week on a different I-softer "ripper" not sure if its related ?? I'll find out tommorow from the PC doc Soooo. I dragged out my Old "ME" from the guest room and I'm back up for now I'm gonna try something different! Rhonda's on a camera forum thats saying there big problems trying to to convert Sony mini disc VOB files to MPEG etc Youtube and photobucket don't support VOB (sucks) Tom
-
Ok so heres my crappy Vid of my Schiada friday (Not crappy because of Rhonda's camera work) ,had to put the digital cam on a TV tray to "dub' it off the TV LOL cause of the sh*tty Sony format ...Tom
BTW watch the dumb a$$ on the Jet ski !

Bob

Still great at "North shore " ,camping by the water is the "Bomb" We have a Cabin at Nac but i'd rather shore camp at S/A Tom
-
Sorry to hear your having such troubles with the video conversions... :-[
maybe use the ME computer for the video stuff keeping your better computer free from troubles ;) till you get it figured out.
On a positive note, glad to see you out having fun in your flatty... ;D how I wish it was still boat weather up here, lol.
Can't wait to see the Miller get wet and show her roost!
Rob
-
Rob re the Vids I'm about to give up I tried loading sftwr to the ME but the processor is to Old Finaly took my new HP back yesterday and they found a "problem" in a corrupted registry ...soooo I'll try again when I gaet it back .Love Sony quality over the years but wouldn't have bought the cam if I had realized the problems with the video conversion. Re the Flatty . it ran flawless josh and I are going to get some seatime in the Miller later this week hopefully. Re weather its been 85 last couple days .nice for October ,prolly isn't helping the fire effort Tom
-
I'm so jelous with you guys and your weather :P
wish you could send the video to me to play with, but too big for e-mail, like to help ya out there.
Side note... if I can get this pump intake out I'll be sending it back soon... grrrrrr on the Silicone ::) >:D :-\
Guess I'll just have to make a trip your way some time to see the boat in action ;D
Rob
-
GRRR??? whats the problem on the intake ? can I help? Theres some easy pointers for removal Tom
-
GRRR??? whats the problem on the intake ? can I help? Theres some easy pointers for removal Tom
;D PM me any pointer you want on the removal... faster I get this thing finished the faster I get it back to you ;)
but for the most part, I'm just slow due to my back... silicone and weather, lol. ::) I know, lame, but...
Enjoying every minute I spend on her. I think it's due to the pump sitting in my Kitchen :D that I smile so much, thinking of next year,
see, now you made me thread jack your thread :P
now Back to the Miller...
we will settle on pics if the video does not work, but I have some ideas on how to fix that for you too!
Rob
-
If the bilge is very clean (so'as not to catch fire ) put a 4x4 block on a floor jack under the intake after all the bolts are out then put some of the weight of the hull on the jack , then pass a "rosebud torch" round and round the intake flange to "warm' the epoxy ,then "ask it " to come out by Gently prying here and there It should fall out ... Tip if your in the boat it will drop suddenly (sometimes) ;) ;)

Re my HP btw the docs says it'll be back in action today had a "corrupted registry" from the factory ,I never made a recovery disc (would have been bad anyhow) so HP reluctantly supplied a new set to get the thing fired up again 1Then maybe my conversion sftwr will work ? Tom
-
Didn't go too fast (40 mph "fishin" lake) but like Brad says a day jet boatin" beats a day working ,period" We put some time on the Miller ,never turned a wrench on it today just drove it and had fun, shot some pics and Vids (probably pissed the rangers off) Heres some sights and sounds at Lake Santa Margarita Enjoy! Tom and Josh

Tom - Damn those Millers come up out of the water nice and ride smooth!! Nice job!! Greg
-
Seriously . Great work guys .
-beerjet-
-
I didn't see any fishermen ;D
... looked like Josh pushed that 40mph rule... little burts on the back stretch... itching to pin it I see ;)
She does look great riding in the water, such beautiful lines, turns/handles nice, will be someones joy.
Great work Josh and Tom, awsome boat!
Rob
-
Thanks everyone ,that lake is only abouy 3 miles long, theres almost never anyone there , but they don't like us to even come there ,We used to take Joshs boat there for test and tune ,we'd go out and sit in a cove for awhile till we could spot the rangers leave the make a couple 1/4 mile blasts! We've been "swarmed" by three Park officials a couple times , I swear you would have thought we were frikken "terrorists" (funny sh*t) I just found the Vids on mini VHS I'll try to convert today for your guys entertainment (and mine)

I heard Jets were the BOMB, but thats funny :D :D :D

I read that if you load the Sony VOB movie file onto the harddrive and then go back after it's loaded, change the file extention, .vob to .mpeg
this might be an easy fix for your movie problems, if your still having any ;D then convert to any format you like with software ;)
Rob

I like the way that Miller rides. Mine is real wet!
Sweet video..so what's the verdict on the GPS?
-
Haven't got up on it yet Nate ,rides sweet ,breaks water right at the motor, turns bitchen ,runs35 @3k ,and will plane at just over 2500 its got a AA Impeller the motors got an a$$ load of mid range and top end torque (434 stroker 396 w/454 crank) The speed limits at Santa margarita is 40 or so we'll get it out to Nac in the next couple weeks and let you know Tom
-
Josh scored a Killer pair of 450 tunnle ram carbs this week for the Miller sooo off come the cheesy 600 "out of the box" Holleys who hoo Tom
-
That thing looks bitchen! You guys did great. Rebel is right about changing the extension from VOB to MPG... Kinda rough doing it that way so you might want to compress it afterwards, but it will work for your immediate enjoyment!
-
Every time i watch that video it makes me want to get my boat done just that much more ;)
I love that sound of the engine.

Undone ,thanks I went "pro account" on Photo bucket and it has some very cool new options ,not the least of which are remixes and movie editing and Thanks I think the Miler came out well condidering the Budget constaints we tried to hold to I'm not sure I ever described what the motor was /is in that boat I'll go back and check ...
2 Sav Thanks for the comment heres a link to another one that will get you "started" from the 16 Beezer if you hadn't seen it ... Tom and yes the drive line is out everyone! ::)

I love this Miller project thread... it just kinda ends though. Did you ever take it out and get some speed numbers? Great job by the way. I love the way that looks. I actually saw a picture of this boat in John's photo album when it was first built back in '74 for some girl named Janice or something. Its a sweet lookin boat. Do you still have it?

Well since its the sleepy time of the season we got bored and decided to build ourselves a 440 Mopar for a jet, had a old core motor and said WTF , so this is a "bucks down deal/make things work/run what ya brung/ make it work" trying to do it with the aboslute minimum of expense (used parts ebay stuff , pepboys deals etc) The block currently was fitted with .055 pistons (it will go .060) found cheap rods and slugs from Summit, got a $50 Mopar Summit performance hyd cam (clone) and scored a single top T'ram and a set of used bassets for $150 ,used mounts for $220.. So a little " rigid hone action" and even used the lathe to polish the crank and Were on the way, gonna throw the motor in our River Racer Boat (pulled the Chevy Stroker out a couple months back ) and see what it does ! Tom

-
What cam did you get Tom? And what heads are you running and valve sizes? And what size was the Chevy Stroker?
Sorry for the questions, I really want the mopar to be faster ;D
-
Tony The BBC was a 402 with 454 crank (434 cu) was 10 to 1 and had rec ports a 550 lift Chet herbert roller and the dual 600 carbs with Msd probillet . The Budget Mopar is 60 over , stock stroke 88cc 400 heads with stock valves , cam is a Purple "clone" flat tappet hyd , has 480 lift and 268 Advertized for stock shaft mounted valve train ("rough specs " the cam card is at the shop) The mopar will get a modified points dizzy and a single 750 Holley Honestly the BBC stroker was a beast at around 500 hp and loads of 4k torque , we "guesstimate" the Mopar to be closer to a conservative 400hp We're curious too but I dont belive the motors are "apples to apples" comparisons Tom
-
Good news /Bad news you can easily rebuild the Mopar BB oil pump But when you add a "shim" :D (80 psi with 15/40 , this is at "Dewalt speed") This motor should be a "runner" by Saturday got all I need to finish just need some more ambition Tom

Now I know why they say MOPAR stands for :
Moments
Of
Power
Are
Rare
Parts are too damn hard to find and it takes some time to make some badass parts to make it all work!
Can't wait to hear this thing......(I am a closet MOPAR freak) My Snap On tool chest is Plumb Crazy Purple :sly:
Nice job fellas

Well lit the Mopar tonite for a second or two without water plumbing (couldn't stand the suspense) , hopefully if the weather holds we'll get to whats left of Naci or S/A lakes for a "Hot Lap" after cam breakin , Admittedly not real exciting (little cam/stock valve train,10.5 to 1 ) kind of sounds like a 69' GTX with open headers ;) but it was fun, cheap, educational and a real departure from the Ford/Chevy,Olds stuff we do routinely Start to finsh just under 3 weeks from "greasy long block" core to "almost turn key" .Investment (minus labor) well under 2K (mostly "scrounged parts") Tom
PS the little "Sneaky Pete Nitrous comes Monday ;)

HEY GUYS GOT TO SPEND A LITTLE TIME AT JBP AND LETS SAY THE MILLER IS A SWEET BOAT AWSOME JOB TOM AND JOSH
-
oh ya!!! I gotta say its about time someone put a 440 into a jet boat. That was my original plan but found a BBC was the same price and parts were easier to come by. Love what you guys did with the project Miller. Would love to go play with a few Miller's up at lake san antonio.
Have you been up there lately? I heard that it was nice, no more green, and usually only about two boats on the lake this time of year.
Once again looks good. Hope to be runnin with you soon.

Well its going slow for now... i will need to paint the Place Diverter HPH black... unless you want to trade a white one for a black one. And I still havn't fired the engine. Once its fired I heard I will need to add the other valve springs. So thats where mine is standing.

Lookin good Bud you've done well havent done much on our this past week but we did score a "Sneaky Pete" off the PB Classi's thought it might "help" the Mopar a bit

Are you sure your bottle is not mounted upside down? Most bottles have a tube in them that goes to the bottom.

I've always mounted mine upside down, with no neck in the bottle :screwy: Don't know if the Sneeky pete's have them or not to save room ???
-
Little bit of a thread jack, but school me on this so called sneeky pete ???

Tiny shot of nitrous! Good for one use before you have to fill the bottle again.
-
Is this a kit ??? something that you might carry ??? and price ??? sorry guys for the jack

Like Marc said, they're really not even worth focking with unless you have a refill station at your disposal , I believe they are only like a 25 shot to boot, which you honestly will never feel in any jet boat. Just build the motor to run like a raped ape and you won't need any funny gas. >:D
-
According to the literature and installation It has two 10 second shots , worth 25 to 30 hp , have a fill "station near by" and the instructions say to mount the bottle with the neck and valve at that angle (or close) why'd we put it on ? cause we could and the motor is stout ;)
I bought from Old Joe at Precision craft Marine they ran it on there drag boat at Phoenix last year

Thanks "Shorty" ;)

not very sneaky i must say... but you have all the plumbing and stuff so you could always mount a bigger bottle if needed couldn't you? so why not run nos? mount a few more of those little bottles mounted up inside the side rail and everyone will think you've only got a 25hp shot.

Suppose one could use a different (larger) bottle but this is a very "Dry" system with no aux fuel source and uses a very unsofisticated little "spray -jet" thats positioned over the primaries via a little tube . Its really truly designed for a concealable cheater sytem Just there for S's & G's and thought it was a cheap simple (and harmless extra 25 hp ;)

And S's&G's you will probably have with it, I would bet. But Yeah, no extra fuel nozzles, I would not press it short of 3, 4 or more shots. 1 or 2 shots might be a bit much, but you built the engine, you would know more than me. (Run it a little more than a tad fat, if that's the case, just my opinion).
Boats is looking SOOO cool and SOOO different! Gonna be a blast!
