I'm new to jet boats, but not boats. I live in KY where these type boats are mostly un-heard of. I found this taylor project 19ft and need some input, it has a blown ford 460. Are these good boats? What about this drive setup is it ok? I have lots of questions, just learning. What do I need to check for? Thanks

I think its great find (depending on what you paid) put it back together and get it wet!

Welcome to SCJB ;D
From what I've heard the Taylor is a good hull. The Berkeley jet is a good place to start with many upgrades available.
As for the blown 460... do you mean that it is blown up or "blown" (supercharged)?
If it's blown up, there are many people around here with 460 parts to help get you going and a few people that will tell you to swap it out for a Chevy (I'll keep my opinion to myself).
Chevy ;)

Set back pump!! Sweet! Your already ahead of the game as far as that goes.

Sweet ride bro ;)
Welcome to SoCal, do whatever it takes to get it back in the water. if you have a Blown 460 in it , see what you can use and go from there Ford parts are everywhere.
(especially the junkyards >:D)
Good luck with her

wasnt asking!
but if he paid 20k for the boat then it wasnt that great of a find. if he picked up that boat the way its equipped for a good price then he scored!
? = this means its a question and would be looking for a response. you'll notice it wasnt used!

There's nothing to let go of you douchebag, I don't like you, I don't like your kind. It's people like you that make me wish abortions could be done retroactively. Eat a dick.

Silver, nice looking boat. Taylor makes good hulls and a setback Berkeley pump is a great place to start. Fock OC, he doesn't have, hasn't had, and probably never will have running boat (unless he borrows another one) Welcome to the site.

Welcome Silver. And yeah! Nice boat, set back pump and all! I'm envious. If its a Blown Ford, you're VERY lucky, not many of them around or on here! If blown up, well, we have some of the best 460 guys around to help you out! If you need parts, there's plenty of those around here as well. (Only because there's a lot more of us running Fords than Chevy's, statistically, so stop it Steve and Keith! :D).
Forgive our children, they misbehave sometimes ::). They're really good guys like the rest of us, willing to help out! I like both of 'em but then I own both Ferds and Chebbies now, sooooo................ :sly:
I really like the colors! TJ should like that too! You've got a good start on a great boat!

Welcome to the site ! Taylors are Great custom hand made boats They are fiercely popular in the mid south (Texas and Oklahoma areas) I have several friends and aquaintences who have been involved with the production of these boats over the years and I have owned a couple myself. Taylor like and utilized the "E" and "F" jets (insert pumps ) which are similar to all other Berks as well as Dominators and American Turbine Jets in both Parts and operation As said already Lots of good info, help and "comraderie here on The Socaljets site ! Again welcome ! Tom

Check out the taylor boat roost. It is a site dedicated to taylor boats and they can tell you anything you want to know about a taylor.
