Heres some pictures of the work we did on Sunday. We took the initial layer of glass off the transom to expose the hair so that when we put the wood in, it has something to bond to. We used several pieces of cardboard to make the piece an exact fit.

Last night we got 2 of the 3 pieces of transom wood in. I will take and post pictures later when I get home. I had some time here at work to post these today.

What are you using to take it down with, vibrating/belt sander?  We replaced some wood in a Kachina and I remember it being tough to get it to the hair stage.

I ended up not using epoxy. I used something else and I really cant say what it was. We did the bottom section first and then the top section with a couple of days apart. What we used cured in about 24 hours.

We are going to try to schedule in some glassing sessions this week into the busy schedule. Its a busy week with the races coming up next weekend.

beerjet has the idea just not in order, as brad you said liquid nails construction adhesive, the duct tape is in the boat so when the leak starts, and your in the middle of nowhere you can tape it, then spit the gum out after saying some sort of explicitives ;D ;D ;D

actually, i had my camera set up on a stool to video the whole thing, but we just kinda lifted it up to test out how heavy it is and we just went with it right then and there. I couldnt stop while we had this 800lb (+/-) hull 3' off the ground.

I will make sure I get the video next time.

Wow that's quite a project you've got going. What is the long range plan for this old girl?  I had never heard of Wreidt boats before I bought mine and I have only seen one other on the water. I am guessing they must be well built or you wouldn't have kept it this long or tried to restore it. Are you going to repaint w/ metalflake?  What comes next? Details man we need details.  Good luck with it.
