A secret passion of mine is to build a Wankel powered jet..... :screwy:
Know of any wrecked RX8's out there?... 8)
I have driven a 16' aluminum with a turbo charged rotary and the horsepower was seamless and smooth, yet didn't look like anything out there...
Not real hit in the head on the MC engine....Always wanted to see someone do a midget four cylinder too... Think of how SIK this baby MOPAR would look in a baby jet boat...

i would think anything is possible . there just going to be a lot of engineering . what i call reinventing the wheel a hell of a alot of work for something that looks cool is a total conversation piece, everyone will want to see it but in the end will just not stack up too what we all are using now . good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Snowmobile motor..anything with a transmission a small power would load and unloadvthe pump..( shifting)

seen a 4.3 v6 chev in an aluminum 18' jet boat, 200 hp, 235 lb/ft, spinning a c cut impeller at 4500+/- rpm, 40 mph boat
cheap? = vortec suburban motor, 4bbl, headers, A imp, 18' = 55mph, 16' possibly 60 mph?
or go with jet ski motor(s) and pump(s)
Ralph always says "good, fast and cheap, pick two"
btw...seen a 16' Tahiti with a BBC in it
Just my $0.02

There was a 16' jet I use to see at perris every so often a few years ago running the aluminum supercharged buick v6. Guy claimed 80's but I seen it run wide open and I woulda guessed low 70's

dont think a street bike or tiny honda motor has the balls... but there ARE some motors out there that can crank out some serious power that arent a big block chevy/ford/olds.

I was looking at two options on my mini jet. A honda 450X dirt bike motor and the motor out of my GSXR 600.
I was just going to use a chain drive to transfer power from the motor to the pump. Plus that way i could change gear ratios if i wanted.
As far as the motorcycle trans goes just leave it in top gear. As far as i know no motorcycles come with an overdrive so final gear would be 1 to 1. if you needed a little more tork just reduce the gear on the motor side or increase the gear on the pump side. either way it would be cool sounding for sure hitting the higer rpms.
Due to the 450X motor being too expensive to get a good deal on one and my GSXR motor being too powerful for the mini berk 6j that is going in my mini boat i did not go with a motorcycle engine and instead i am putting a 700cc Jet ski motor in it.
anyway I have some plans and did a bunch of research about putting a bike motor in the little boat so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

There is a 1000cc motor on craiglist San diego for $600

it would take a big giant turbo and a bulletproof build to get 1000 CC to do anything even resembling fun...
Quad rotor, do it so I can live vicariously through you.... 8)
Pulse Performances lil screamer... :sly:

Get a small block Chevy and a die grinder....turn it into a 2 stroke and run alcohol.....make the water jackets intake runners. With alcohol...wouldn't need cooling and it would make more power (if you did it right) than you could deal with. 5.7L 2stroke=badass

ten or so years ago I wanted to see how my dad's old salt flat roadster 4 banger motor would do in a flat bottom.this 4 banger was no joke, 190 cdi injected on fuel. even with way too tall gears, it ran pretty good. 55 mph no problem and great fuel conversion. it really made people turn thier heads, some laughed, and some thought it was pretty cool

I'v seen that thing at the lake before.

B series = wrong rotation. K series = correct rotation. K series and a turbo = light and fast...
