why on some jet circle boats some guys run drag setups and others use full covered circle set ups. What length do you run a circle setup in a jet with most of the force in the rear of the boat.

Can we get a little more info on what you're trying to do/ask? I wanna help but I'm not sure what you're asking...... There's a ton of awesome folks here and I'm certain somebody will have your answer.......good luck.......john

Im trying to find out why on a jet circle boat, some guys use a drag motor mount setup and others use the full alum cover for top mount motor plates. Also on a full cover how far forward do you run the rails past the motor. This is the first jet boat ive owned (Lots of v drives). Im not new to jets for drag racing but wanting to do a circle boat for fun. So im trying to find out why some are set up differently. Ive noticed some guys stop the rails past the front of the motor and if its because the boat is pushed from the rear where the v drive is way different.

motormonkey There are several ways to muont both Jet and V-drive motors 3 pt, 4pt and motor rails , 3pt are usualy production and low to moderate Hp. 3pts usually have some "cushion factor" rubber insulators etc. 4 pts are common in Jets and v-drives ,a little more work to set up and definatly solid mounts ,they'll take significant power . Rail kits are IMO the cleanest & easiest to install and rig , by far strongest and make for easy engine relocation ,removal, swaps etc There probably a lot more but I'm too frikken tired ...more tommorow Tom
heres son Josh with a Motor rail kit mocked up and going back in:

To add to what tom said, there really isn't a genre specific way to mount your motor.
