yes the deck is glassed to the bulk head just the bulk head does not touch the deck. i will get pics tonight. i got that focking resin in my hair

hahahahah!!!! Been there done that. I stood back to admire my handy work and ran my fingers thru my hair and about .5 seconds into it I realized what I did. What a mess!!!! Don't be afraid of that "fast" hardener. It sets up faster but still leaves you time to work your magic. You're doing a great job.........john

thanx steve, i got home tonight and took a look see, i can see now where i did not get all the air out

for my first time i think i did pretty well

i guess i could go back in there and rip it all out and start over, NOT or take it some place and pay a grand or so to have it done. NOT

its strong as hell the deck does not flex at all like it used to
jrork i looked at the fast hardener but, to tell you the truth

i would have had to buy a different pump and i am too cheap for that. So i just used the stuff in the kit.

ok, so pops and i got crackin on this bitch today. First i got the parts from place, via jet boat performance. thanks tommy

saved me a bunch on shipping with the will call

then i had to switch out the fittings because i am using steel braided lines and cherry bulkhead fittings that i had laying around.

those little brass BASTARDS were in there way too tight

got to rip out the old shit

as you can see i dont have any transom wood, now the problem of where and how to mount the pump

so i run down to my local metal center and pick a peice of 3x4 scrap and set about making a mount for the pump

drill and counter sink all holes

and walla, i have a mount

Place says the plastic mounting bracket is strong enough to hold the pump, I found out the hard way that it can vibrate or bounce loose (the pump) out of the bracket. What I did was to put a good sized piece of inner tube between the pump and the, in my case the transom, and then tightend the screws down on the bracket. A sort of shock absorber if you will, just my experience

While this is somewhat true, if the bracket is mounted correctly the pump fits quite snug...On the raceboat, we had the same pump but for the trim tabs, not a nozzle and we simply drilled and tapped a 1/4-20 hole just above the pump with it installed and put in an allen bolt to keep the pump from creeping out...Never once had an issue.

i decided to redo the wood behind the dash today since the steering weel was moving about 2.5 inches up and down

first had to rip out the old rotten wood

down to bare glass

the template before trimming

dash and braces

i just screwed the braces to the dash peice because it will all be glassed to the hull. all the corners were rounded and wood sanded with 36 grit for a better bond.

test fit before i ground the wood off the bottom of the deck

the other side

now i did not know if i should have used the fiberglass mat or just let the resin hold it together

but whaat the hell i glassed that some bitch

i will get finished pics in the next couple of days. all in all not bad for a days work and 2 trips to the home depot for some new tools to do the job.
