If you do ever decide to do the swap I have water pump block off , logs and snails , 4 point mount and feet , PTO , and a full spare MSD set up.

litte bit of work

the idea was not to keep the water out, but, to keep the fumes out when i enclose the engine because it is a full stringer boat and the fumes would just go under the floor.

My boy dont mess around. I see your tank switch there. I had the same one on both boats. Those things restrict fuel down to 1/4". Anybody had any problems with these? I know theyre quite popular I see them all the time. I just made a Tee with the two 3/8" lines from the tank to a -10 to the filter and -8 to the pump. I wonder if my boat will run fatter on the top end now? On the cruiser I just put a 3/8" electric on Nordie turned me onto.

i am offically back in the game ;D took the boat out to marine stadium to test and it went great... the motor never skipped a beat. i need to thank nicks dad terry for building me an awsome motor at a great price. if you guys need a new motor i suggest you give terry a call... i told him what i needed and he came through for me, hell i even picked up 300 rpm with the new motor it is now turning an A impeller 4800rpm, for me and this cruiser that is great......
thank you again terry..
couple of pics

i made some hardware changes as well, i had a place ride plate droop combo and went back to the standard berk with a 1* wedge with the diverter and now the thing handles wayyyyyy better. i have no speed #s yet but, when i get a # i will then put the short droop on to see how it likes it.. basically i had to start at step 1 and go from there....

Very nice. Lookin good
i was lucky enough to be able to purchace Reid's old nordic. now that being said, it need to be put back together. the only problem is there is a chebby in there and i am a ford guy so i am lost :-[, but hey its just nuts and bolt right ??? good thing most of my buds have or have had a chebby or two. this is how i got it. (pics from the sale add)

and when it came home to me

so after calling pat (and him coming over) jim brock and many calls today to skip to get lined up on what i actually have motor wise. i proceeded to go to the parts store for a starter, intake, valve cover gaskets and starter bolts cause these forkin chebbys take special bolts :screwy: tell the guy at napa i need the starter bolts and he says how long ??? now how in the hell am i supposed to know ???. figured i would measure and pic them up on the next trip (cause i know there will be many :-[)

then i had to go and get  a bunch of nuts and bolts cause the boat came with none.

been a while since i have done anything to the boat other than run it. well i had a nasty oil leak on the big river trip that would leak about a quart a day :banghead: so out came the motor

had a water leak at the transom as well so figured while i was at it

found the oil leak while i had the engine on the cherry picker, the drain hose only had one gasket on it :banghead:

figured since i went this far i would call jim brock up at cyclone speed and marine so i could install a shoe and ride plate :o he says sure bring it down. so we get busy

taped off the area where i needed to prep

justin aka just electric came over to lend us a hand and boy am i glad he came because this is a lot of work. (this is my first intake that i have done)

test fit the new intake

it wouldn't set at the 4* we wanted to out came my favorite tool, the GRINDER

man  i was itching for days

more test fit and measuring the level was just for reference, we used an angle finder to get our 4* wich was not easy.

jim mixing up the sea going poxy putty

it get's kinda nerve racking when it comes time to set it in, the stuff is kicking and trying to fall out and ya gotta keep it where it needs to be. well at least i was stressed :sly: jim and justin just took it all in stride.

as you can see in the pick above it keeps on wanting to run out so you have to keep shoving back until it kicks hard enough

almost done

gotta drill the bowl for the cradle

i didn't have a loader before so i decided while i was at it why not :) we installed it and it hung about 1.5" below the keel so jim went to work on it

i cant thank jim and justin enough for the lessons they tought me during this process, this is the cliff notes version because there is a lot more to it than i put here..
