ralph's nordic
« on: June 06, 2010, 07:46:18 PM »
i was lucky enough to be able to purchace Reid's old nordic. now that being said, it need to be put back together. the only problem is there is a chebby in there and i am a ford guy so i am lost :-[, but hey its just nuts and bolt right ??? good thing most of my buds have or have had a chebby or two. this is how i got it. (pics from the sale add)

and when it came home to me

so after calling pat (and him coming over) jim brock and many calls today to skip to get lined up on what i actually have motor wise. i proceeded to go to the parts store for a starter, intake, valve cover gaskets and starter bolts cause these forkin chebbys take special bolts :screwy: tell the guy at napa i need the starter bolts and he says how long ??? now how in the hell am i supposed to know ???. figured i would measure and pic them up on the next trip (cause i know there will be many :-[)

then i had to go and get  a bunch of nuts and bolts cause the boat came with none.

this thing is beating me into submission :screwy: got off work a little early yesterday and figured i would get started on the boat. one of the bowl bolts was stripped, so i got the heli-coil kit, took off the bowl, then looked for 20min for the rite size drill bit :banghead: made a few calls and nobody has one. Oh-well back to the store, home depot has got to have it rite? wrong, so off to the nut and bolt store, yup they got it and $14.99 later, im off, oh-hell i need one bolt for the bowl :banghead: turn the truck around and back to the nut and bolt store. (i really should make a list)

got the bowl done  i took off the place droop/ride plate because this barge aint no speed demon, on with a 4* wedge and the short droop (for the big roost) getting ready to put on the diverter and i think to myself, are all the screws locktighted in ??? so i take it apart and sure enough no locktight, so thats all done. what else? got the battery box mounted, new carb lines (thanx 2sav) i knew i would need it sooner or later

Swim step = negative but not giving up yet.

Can of bolts = 'they have to be around here somewhere!' - im sure it will be found soon.

Ignition key = yeah about that....It broke in half when I dropped something heavy on the key chain a year ago :/
