How hard is it to redo a floor in a boat? Mine will be a bitch.... alot of floor to do :banghead:
How long will it take? oh and I have to do all my seats too..... :mad: :banghead: f*cking boat builder. But that's a different story.... O0

not so much hard, just very tedious, dirty and itchy. How are your fiberglass skills?

good, I've build a few duck boats, glassed some tank,seats,ect ;D

Tip of the day.............Gold Bond Medicated powder all over you before you mess with fiberglass, it fills the pores and allows you to wash the stuff off of you when you're done, reduces the itch by leaps and bounds....Also, cold shower, not hot, keeps the pores reduced in size and does not allow the glass to penetrate the skin and give you the deep itch. long tee shirts and duct tape work OK too.
Also gotta have a full face respirator for long term glassing, I use mine everytime, uncomfortable as hell (and hot) but I don't cough for two weeks after sanding either. :thumbup: Keeps the shit out of your eyes too.

Are you going to do all the work yourself, or are you having someone do some of it?
If I'm doing a job myself, I take the time I think I can do it in and add two weeks ;D
If I'm having someone else do something for me, I take the time I think I can do it in and add two months >:(

If you are dilligent about it, you could get it done in a weekend or two.

ok guys.
i have read threw most of the floor replacement threads. one thing that i have a question on is this. when you take out the old floor there is all that foam in there. do you leave all that out or do you put more back in. none of the threads i have seen show this or mentions it. thanks. just wondering so i know what to do when i do mine.

Just out of curiosity, does your boat have the standard plywood floor or is it a complete fiberglass molded floor?
Sorry if I missed that part if you said it already.

Mine doesn't have foam in it. Most guys just take it out and don't put it back in... Be you can re-foam it... Foam is when you sink it.... ;D >:D :screwy:

Lol, What else would I do? Life is too short to sweat little mistakes like a minor exploding, burning and sinking boat. Noone was hurt, I have what seems like a dozen more to work on, so live and learn! :banghead:
Besides, made quite an impression on the rest of our kind from a safety standpoint and checking things out better. Sad it was MY boat that it had to happen to, but if it serves to save even 1 life, I'd burn and sink them all without thinking about it.
