So, while the boat's down - I decided i wanted to rid myself of the previous owners rats nest of doom underneath the dash, do something about the seating situation, and replumb some stuff with nylon braided lines, instead of steel braid..

rundown: '76 southwind 18', 460BBF, o/t headers, fiberglass tub that houses 2 main seats+rear bench.

Question 1 - replumbing, I dont like the way the T valve that comes in from the jet pump to supply water to the motor sits on the floor and runs up two -8's, Would there be any harm to putting the T at the two water inlets on the hardin waterpump plate, and then running a single line down? Im thinking cooling might suffer, but it's just putting the T up higher..

Thinking about doing two of those up front, and maybe two in back w/ a cooler in the middle.. or a bench. I can't decide. the boat's theme is going to be black top w/ sonic blue scallops outlined in mystichrome. maybe some red in there too..

and Question 3- the dash wiring of doom.. Guages? anyone know of a good set - tach, volts, oil pressure, water temp, hour meter? that match? - and i'm looking at redoing everything.. am eyeing the hardin marine motor kit/precrimped harness set..

my opinion, negative on the seats, they belong in a lowered civic, as far as gauges go, call tom at jet boat performance, he is the man and will hook you up with what you need.

I'm on the verge of "completley hammered" but GT would like them .  ;D
What kind of look are you going for ?

Norht west beer can boats use them all day long .
Southwest ....... not so much  :-\

Unless that boat is made of old PBR cans and goes over a hundred on 3-4" of fast moving water, they don't do it for me either... LMAO..

Civic for sure, maybe a 4X4 Toyota  ;)

 As far as the seats it just depends on what you want. Its your boat, so build what makes you happy.  I do remember a boat (I think it was Blue's Brendella?) that had a set of low back seats kinda like that and it looked good.  But most people prefer something like these http://www.socaljetboats.com/index.php?topic=4123.0  .

 The water lines should work like you want to do it, most of the time its just easier to route the lines like you already have them. Be creative and have fun with it, as long as you get water to both sides of the motor you should be fine, but just to be safe, post up some pics when you do it (so everyone can tell you its wrong  ::)).

 Like FORKEDUP said, talk to Tom at Jet Boat Performance about gauges, he has great prices on new sets and sometimes has good used sets.  http://www.jetboatperformance.com/index.php?p=main

IMO they look ok, but are not very functional because of them being so wide.  If you plan on having a back seat you will find that it is necessary to climb over the front seats to get to the back seats (what a pain in the @!$).

The other problem I see with the one you showed is that it has little side support that you will need when you start racing around.

fuk these guys i say run the seats on a 16-18" platform/speaker box to show them off buy my jet boat radiator and call it done  ;D
