Title: Setting Up a Rail Kit
Post by: JordanDangerfield on May 31, 2018, 03:33:05 PM
I want to swap a BBC into a boat that had a BBF. I have a rail kit and a mock up block ready to go.

What angle do I want between the motor and pump?

How much play do I leave in the driveline so it doesn’t bind up on the impeller shaft?

Where do I take the angle measurements on the pump and hull?

I assume I start by leveling the boat with a digital angle finder on the keel then basing everything off that. I appreciate any and all help! Thanks in advance.

We all like pics. Here’s the boat. It’s a 76’ Southwind 18. Original gel and interior.

Great question! I too am curios on the responses you may get. I have a project boat and was thinking about how to approach this the other day
