My first jet boat
« on: August 06, 2015, 01:24:10 PM »
Hey everybody
New here and to the jet boat scene, I'm here in Indiana(racing Capitol of the world) and recently bought my first jet boat. It is a 77 Anthony, with a 455 and a panther jet. Didn't pay much for it and I am really needing info on where to start on this project. It does run though it has sat for a year, per previous owner. I know the interio is rotted, and the paint is faded. I'm sure I'm in for a long road but eager to get started. Thanks for any advice or info. I've been checking YouTube, but not much info on Anthony's or panted jet drives.

Thanks, I'm planning on doing a rebuild on the motor, the pump is my biggest concern. Not sure if I can change it to a Berkeley or is a panther worth keeping? My family owns a graphics company so I thought about wrapping it, but I paint cars for a living, so not to concerned about that. Really just need info on the pump, and what trouble spots to look for with the hull itself.

It would take a lot of money to change the pump from a panther to a Berkeley. Most people don't care for panthers but rebuild the motor and have fun with it until you want to upgrade
