Title: Steering system
Post by: Tahiti1971 on August 14, 2018, 07:26:43 PM
Looking to upgrade my steering system on my 16’ Tahiti.
Thought I’d post to get some feedback as to what would be a good replacement.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What steering do you have now?

The rotary is the cheapest and the feeling corresponds with the price.

The rack and pinion is a definite step up.

The Calgo is the most expensive and requires regular inspection but is the most positive feeling.

I just have an older rack style.
Getting ready to swap due to its stiff.
Thanks for the input.

You can replace just the cable/rack.  You most likely don't need to replace the helm.
