Title: Stringer replacement material

Hey all, new to site.  In the last couple months I bought a project boat and a parts boat.  I need to redo the stringers and some other work. 

I was looking into using versa-stud for the lumber. 

Anybody ever used this?

I've never used versa-stud. I worked at Schiada for 6 years and we always used kiln-dried Doug fir . Gardena lumber usually stocks it in 2x10x16', hope that helps.

Kiln dryed is always the best choice. Anything else will have moisture still in the wood.

Makes sense about the moisture.  Looks like kiln dried is what I'll use.  Anybody know where to get in in Santa Clarita or close to?
