-

Hell, I thought it might be some of Tom's Home Brew!!! ;D
-
looks like engine degreaser...i hate the smell of that stuff.
looks better already tom!
Wiped down a part about a week ago and I still cant get the smell out of the garage :P
-
Probably a really stupid question, but since I don't know how many boats Tahiti Mike has... is that a Tahit?
Also oddly enough, I like the smell of engine degreaser. This is going to be another informative thread by Tom and the rest of the family at Jet Boat Performance. I'm looking forward to it. Thanks.
-
I want to try some of his beer if it's good enough to degreas the bilge as well as get you drunk. LMAO!!!!! ;D
-
I'm going to "gang bang" the answers here ,NO its not home brew (thats for drinkin :) ) Yes its a Tahiti Mini cruiser . The "stinky" degreaser is Gunk foamy ,will be then be meticulouly cleaned with Super Kleen and cleaned again . COMING soon ,can you say Sawzall !! ;)

WOW, I need to get into the boat repairing/rerigging business. They cut a huge hole in the hull and they're getting a compliment, hell I can do that! >:D J/K
-
Belive me theres something really "creapy" about doing that initail cut !
-
Just curious but about how much does it run to have a pump all set up? I mean intake and all... SET WAYYY BACK.
-
Alot depends on the Boat & the circumstances ,time of year, whose parts etc I've heard of guys getting $ 2500 plus ???... Tom
-
That's the quote 82 Daytona got... Depending on where Dave finds himself down the road a little ways, I may or may not be asking/paying for some help from you boys up north.
-
I wound up paying 3k for everything including bottom work

Tom, I am actually watching this thread VERY closely! I have been wanting to swap for a while but had never seen anyone do it or at least not anyone who took notes and made them public. It is looking like I might have to switch out the transom so my option are pretty open for having to cut a new hole in the back for the pump.
Keep updating!
-
OC Happy that you folks enjoy this stuff ,folks that play these things "close to the vest" are selfish ,my theory is if you want to try it your self go for it , if you don't feel confortable or dont have the time, tools and "where with all" you bring it to me (or somebody qualified) any way Josh and I are happy to help with whatever you guys want to tackle ! Tom

Tom
And after we screw it up, :banghead: we bring it to you anyways!
-
looking good guys.doese the hand hole stick all the way out the back or is it split
-
its alllllllll the way outside, nuts to buts with the transom plates that have yet to be made O0. Alot of times when you see inspection cover in the middle of the plate, its because the installer didn't want to cut through the bottom corner of the transom on the set back,(or because that particular boat like the intake in that particular spot).
-
Heres some pics of the dissassembly :banghead: , it was a tad stubborn

Thats cool, If we had to fill huge gaps it probably wouldn't be the best way to do it. But I cut the plates to fit real snug up against the housing, so i'll put a bead of caulk on the mating edge of the plate then finish it off with a nice clean bead on the outside.
you can see how tight the plates fit
(https://www.socaljetboats.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi147.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fr319%2Fjetboatperformance%2FTahiti%2520Mike%2FDSCF0289.jpg&hash=f30dc36ab021e881ecb253fe9385d18c8096f2e8)

That is a pretty tight fit!

That is a pretty tight fit!
I cut em small initially then take many many trips back to the bandsaw, this is also why we don't offer these plates for sale exept as an in house installation.

help i need a plumbing diag for this new set up from the pump to every thing.
theres only one thing to plumb....the pipe going through the transom plate is your water inlet....which goes to your motor to cool it.
-
ok .the way it ran before had no t valve in the system for the headers.

We usually run a ball valve infront of the header t to further regulate the water to the headers.

josh heres a pic of the bellhousin
-
here we go
-
and again
-
maybe we should run this
-
Looks like the short Bellhousing, as I suspected. Panthers typically use the long driveline assembly with a short bellhousing to get their depth/ DL engagement correct, where Berkeley uses a long bellhousing w/long DL or short w/short. If you were going to use that bellhousing you would need the 6 3/4" drive line, the one that has the crank flang built on to it.
Now that I think about it, it seems like alot of horspower to put into 3 point mounts anyhow....
