Title: Triple axle trailer project
Post by: MADSKILLZ on February 27, 2013, 07:49:44 AM
So i decided to finally fix my bent axles on my trailer. I was getting tired of having to replace my tires after every river season. Not only did i replace my two axles, I also decided to take it one step further! Here are some pics of my project. Enjoy!!!

interesting how your axle setup is somewhat "modular" where it can be removed from the trailer frame.  cool rig!

Yeah, made it easy for me :-) the whole assembly was held on to the main trailer with only (3) 1/2" bolts

thats pretty cool.  hows turning with the triples?  i dont think i could even get mine into my garage around the curve in my driveway.  as-is i have to spray the driveway with water and wiggle the trailer back and forth.  im guessing you can use some soft springs and the ride is a lot better on the boat?

Haven't tested it out yet but i had a 24ft triple axle enclosed trailer and it turned just fine for me. My truck don't care lol.

I hope it works. I'm tired of dragging that shit everywhere good thing I talked to boost before I did anything to mine his dad has the same boat and trailer set up and they tried all the same stuff I was gonna taller tires and raised shackle and shit still hit everything. I figured I would try bagging it that way I can lift it up when transporting and drop it low when launching

Yeah that's the problem with v-drive trailers. That should work good, just Hope you don't get a leak and that shit hit the ground on the hwy. Should but some bump stops on it

just outa curiosity, how do you register a custom built trailer? ie. make/serial#/year.    when i "imported" my jet boat to CDN from AZ, all border/customs wanted to know was the info on the trailer,(not the boat) cause all transport Canada cares about, is what's on the highway, not what's on the water.    Vic

in BC the easiest way is register it as a  ubuilt. I have done that on several trailers no inspectiond required. You pay less than a transfer and they give you a new title right away

In Cali you have to go to hwy patrol, show all material receipts, and they stamp a VIN # on it. I didn't build this trailer though, only modified it
