all new to me

hey wanted to say hi to everyone i just got a my first jet boat and i have alot of ?'s about it how do i get the right size steering cable for it ? it seem to run ok but is there anything i need to look out for? its a 76 hawaiian 21' with a 455 and berkley12jc-a pump any help would be great

welcome...

i had to replace my steering cable when i bought my boat too.. if there is a cable there already take it out and if you want u can take it to a boat place and they can tell you how long it is and everything.. theres a number on one of the ends of the cable witch tells you the lengh.. BUT if you dont have a cable and need to find out the lengh you need to measure the rout the cable is goin to take using straight lines... its really easy and its almost impossible to mess up.

if you have some spare time take a trip over to rexmar. hows yer throttle and control cable while yer at it? they have package specials. also with the steering cable their teleflex rack kits with helm are like $10 more and its nice to have everything nice and new.
