That bowl that has been sharpened and shortened a little over 1/8 of an  inch, is that for high HP applications when matched to a good impeller?

Post by: jim brock on May 05, 2015, 04:15:37 PM
it will work for any application, but the impellor will have to be fitted, not a bolt on. must fit the impellor

What is the point of machining it down then? Is it a damage repair?

it moves the veins closer to the impellor and also makes more bowl pressure, nothing damaged, I have 2 done like that.

I'm just trying to figure out which bowl you have is a better fit for what I am building. What is the benefit of higher bowl pressure? Less cavitation? More speed? Less RPM?

more speed.

In my experience, quicker acceleration. I feel the more speed is somewhat debatable. Maybe on an incredibly light hull.
