Wanted to Buy - Spectra Gas Cap
« on: May 09, 2016, 08:07:28 AM »
'78 Spectra with a belly tank. Somewhere on the way to Laughlin, my screw on gas cap decided to part ways with the boat and left just the chain hanging.

Anyone have one lying around that they'd like to sell or know a source?

Probably 2" inner diameter and 3" outer diameter screw on cap: smooth top, ridges on the sides, heavy as hell.

Can't find a source anywhere and I'd like to keep it original.

I'm trying to find a better picture, but guess the cap hasn't been the focus of any images  :screwy:

These are hard to track down.

Are they the chrome over brass ones with the knurled grips around the outside?

I may have one in a box of crap we have.  I'll need some time to go look,  if memory serves,  the chrome was not all that great.

Let you know when I do.

It's on my watch list as well as a couple others. There's a chris craft and perko one that look similar.

I have a rubber 2" cap clamped on right now and it fit tight, so I'm assuming 2" NPT until I can get home and measure for sure. The one in the link is 1.5"  :-\
