Title: LOGS
Post by: HDriderTH on December 02, 2009, 03:53:41 PM
So I picked up this little searay the other day. I got her runnin and it kept filling the cylinders w/ water. So I found a hole in the log pouring water into the exhaust ports. It's a Mercruiser 302 Ford. I need exhaust manifold(s) if anybody knows of any or has some lemme know. Are volva penta manifolds close does anybody know?

I need to go look in the "Heap" lol...Does yours have rear risers?   What year? what side?  The Penta manifold will have an odd transition but will work with some, well, work  ;D, is it a Volvo or a Waukesha? Small differences, the Waukesha's are nicer with a higher than normal nickle content...read; last forever.

You probably have an 888 Merc?

LOL stop it! I'm done near sinking (And literally sinking), these things. I'm not the brightest bulb in the room, but I have learned when to turn the switch "off".  ;D

(That was FUNNY, BTW, you and Crewcheif were the only witnesses to that lil bit o excitement!)

reason terry is asking about the volvo deal is i have a boat that has a volvo set-up in it with a sbf and it has logs n all that...i havent even looked at the boat for over a year and i was kinda wondering about the logs myself...i'd imagine with some work that you could well make them work, but this is uncharted waters for me so far as i know they will bolt up to eaither sbf and that is it

I will personally guarantee we can make them work...I can either make elbows for them or get some parts together to "adapt them" on to the Merc deal, the Volvo manifolds are more of a "Universal" exhaust system, the only ones that were specialized were the Waukesha units.

To use Tom's phrase, call if I can help... ;)

So glenn is thinking we can make them work huh? I think we can make it happen down here I don't know how the exhaust runs on a volvo set-up I can't remember if it was 270 or 280, but hell they might be the same idk I don't really know much about i/ol's but I'm glad that glenn does I think he actually likes them things  if I remember correctly the volvo ones are not as bulky...other questions I had in mind was water plumbing I would be curious to see if all the plumbing would work out or something would half to be meguivered...keep doing research terry and post on craigs that you are looking for a log there's a million mercruisers around...also I would call d&h marine and there's one in boulder city I always forget the name...honestly I didn't like either log on that boat they both have been braized back together...I'm stuck at a stupid drug testing facility and got a lot of waiting time to think up crap...wish there was some eye candy in here...
